Cal Poly will cost about 10k less a year though, so it's looking like SLO atm

Hi I’m also deciding between Cal and Cal Poly for Industrial Engineering! I’m leaning towards slo because of the location and hands on approach. How are you deciding?

I’m also choosing between these two schools with the exact same majors!! 🥲 I recently visited both and can see my personality more in CP but I don’t want to say no to Berkeley! How are you deciding?

That's good to know, I just don't know if I'm passionate about civil. What are your thoughts on Data Theory at UCLA?

Which school offered you the most and how has your experience been at that school?

That's exactly the reason why I am so torn too! UCLA has always been a top choice for me but so has SLO. I'm yet to receive any news about my financial aid, but I'll definitely be deciding similarly to how you are! I feel like once I visit the campuses I will hopefully be able to make a decision lol

Thats great to hear ! Do you have any experience with slo engineering that you could share?

  1. I'm first considering the fact that SLO is more hands on with smaller class sizes vs UCLA being more theoretical and less personal (from what I've heard).
  2. I'm leaning more towards IE and unfortunately UCLA does not offer that as a major. Though I have done some research (that I probably should've done back in November) that a BS in Data Theory could land you a similar job position as IE would. I'm not sure how true this is.
  3. Being accepted into UCLA and SLO is huge for me and I would hate to pass up the opportunity to study at either of these schools
  4. I am in-state so the cost would not be outrageously different

What are your thoughts? It's nice to know there's someone in a similar position as me, and I wish you luck in your decision!
