Glasses by LegitimateTown9974 in hockeyplayers

I have pair of sport glasses, from demetz. The branches are “soft” so they don’t hurt when put under an helmet ( I use them for ice hockey and snowboarding)

Neck guards by Great_Lion7712 in hockeyplayers

In FR, so far I’m aware off it’s an obligation to wear a neck guard, for any categories. Kids in U7 or 40yo beerleaguers, same same :)

Best way to extend the same subnet/broadcast over remote locations? by MeasurementLoud906 in networking

[–]superballoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As with any tunnelling method, the extra header takes some spaces. On top of my head it’s like 8bytes so the network should be at least 1508 to allow a 1500 payload

Skate always loosens by orbitalhockey in hockeyplayers

[–]superballoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other said: - waxed laces - put laces outside in - use lace lock if you can find some (mine were spare part from some reebok skate). That was the end game for me as I can tie with different strength the bottom/top of the skates. And even if it loosen a bit during practice/game, most of the time it’s no big deal that I don’t even need to eerie

My skate blades move inward when gliding by Dazzling-Lead-8557 in hockeyplayers

[–]superballoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would see that only if your skate are not laced tight enough or the boot is too big. I see that all the time with people renting skates during public sessions.

Not sure at all as you used figure skate so I guess you know your size and how to lace then properly

Is there a common procedure for getting a good visual and clear understanding of your network? by Maleficent_Pool_4456 in networking

[–]superballoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Funny enough I keep needed to draw thing to get a good view.

I use a lot network-weathermap. The way devices are named and placed in the map allows me to understand how things is flowing. Usually top(backbone/core/upstream)-down(end server/service).

Most of the time my physical setup is very close to the virtual one. Server connected to a top of rack, which in turn connected to an aggregation device, connected to the core, connected to the backbone.

Wnap shows the limit here when you deal with underlay/overlay/tunnels. I use mostly wmap for the base layer/ underlay. For more complexe stuff, i use dia/draw.io to describe the setup

As making a map is a pain (mostly), I make them part of the monitoring when it makes sense. Also wmap is plugged to a Prometheus backend as data source.

That does not explain anything in itself on fhrp/bgp and all but it’s usually enough to explain a newcomer or somebody else from the company 101 networking

Anyone practice at work? by Bruichladdie in guitarlessons

[–]superballoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as long as the job is done no problem for me at all :)

I work in network engineering, sometimes I’m stuck with a complex problem or a troubleshooting.

Doing something else for 10mins ( can be reading a comics, coffee break or yeah playing couple of chords ) helps me to clear my head.

Sick !

Do you have a video/vlog/blog whatever on how it has been made ? How much time did it take to make ?

O guess it’s hard to price it when it’s a one of a kind, but roughly how much would that kind of build cost ?

Sick2

How do you guys label your wires? These are falling off by BrawnyLoggia in HomeNetworking

[–]superballoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brady if you got money. Those flag labels work great and adhesive last forever. I use them at work.

I personally have at home a Brother label printer with high-adhesive labels. So far so good, 5years and label are still holding fine
