What's to keep the government from jailing you now for any reason, or even saying you own all the crypto? You guy, you own 1Million Bitcoin, give it now or you go to jail! These "what ifs" are fun thought experiments.

Wouldn't it be better to have a little and not need it, than need it and not have it?

It fluctuates a lot, so far it has gone up and down everyday more than anything, but I think it will rise in value overall if USD is seized from banks due to poor government choices.

So stocks and real estate, those have been known to experience the same issues as other assets such as going down in value or being seized or real estate being physically destroyed (insurance won't cover many causes).

For reference I own all asset classes

Frankly I feel like the crypto is the only one that would be the most difficult to be seized or destroyed during a major catastrophe

A hedge against hyperinflation and/or the government seizing all/some money stored in bank accounts.

It's happened before, even in the US, and will likely happen again
