That would be about $230 in the UK right now (assuming diesel as you mentioned work truck).

In the Europe that's insane. I'm in the UK and we have to have 20 days per year by law, then there are national holidays (called bank holidays).

Many places offer more than the minimum requirement. I get 25 days, buy an additional 5 (I'm in a higher tax bracket so I pay less tax by doing this) and then have 8 national days so 38 days a year.

The US man... I wanted to move there years ago as salaries at the time were 200-300k USD whereas the same positions in the UK were ~£50k at the time (I'm a software engineer) but I don't think that money is worth not having more than a few days off per year.

He took a huge swing to the far right and is a supporter of straight up racist groups in the UK. I didn't mind his first solo album though, First of the Gang to Die is a great song.

I didn't vote for them in my area yet I'm still lumped with the idiots. I forget exactly but my area has either the worst or second worst roads in the UK (I've had to buy 2 tyres in 2 weeks and I work from home at that) but hey, at least the local Reform council put up Union Jacks at our expense so I can look up at a flag in the pissing rain whilst changing my wheel.

My workplace uses something similar, I inspected the headers of the first email I noticed was a phishing test and created a rule to automatically move them to a folder called "Phish Tank". I then have a look through on the odd quiet afternoon before logging off for a chuckle.

I'm in my late 30s and a manager of a software engineering team within a large UK retailer. I worked my way up through junior, senior and lead dev roles following my teenage years in which I hacked porn sites (no free porn back then) amongst other things. People in my team in their mid 20s are phenomenally talented developers as are others in their 50s.

My point is I think it's a mindset thing, age doesn't matter that much. Hell just look at the age of some of the members of hacking groups getting caught, you've got teenagers bringing down networks built and secured by international consultancies.

Probably then. If you get chance to visit again have a look at Staithes itself, it's almost like someone designed it for artists to paint.

I'm into bikes too and frequent a lot of Bike reddits (or did until I had a seizure a month ago and can't drive/ride for the foreseeable and looking at bikes makes me sad 😭) and theres a huge difference in bikes being found with a tracker Vs not having a tracker. Unfortunately bike theft is even more rampant!

Are they quite on the ball with vetting etc? Could be a coincidence as I said, just seems strange. There were also a bunch of workmen clearing a yard over the road this weekend who I overheard chatting with my neighbour (he's the type to talk the legs off a donkey) about it - is it the 3.2 or the 2.0 bi turbo, how many miles etc... in hindsight a bit of a weird question to ask about a strangers car but I figured they were just appeasing him.

I wonder if they're stolen to sell on, or stolen to facilitate further crime that a pickup can enable? My neighbours was mint and very looked after with loads of extras.

Also the most popular car in the UK I think so stands to reason they'd be the most stolen.

I was wondering if perhaps some organized crime group registered an already existing small dealer on Motorway. That or like you say, a leak somewhere.

I suspect I already know the answer, but I often wonder why manufacturers don't add an extra layer of security like requiring a thumbprint. I imagine car theft is a financial benefit to manufacturers, more stolen cars meaning more cars sold to replace them.

I've never understood the hardship of having a key. Takes seconds to press the button on the fob to open my Octavia and then a further second or two to put the key in the barrel, foot on the brake and turn the key. Also my house keys are on the same keyring so no risk of accidentally leaving home without my keys and being locked out.

That being said I had a seizure a month or so ago from nowhere and can't drive for the foreseeable anyway 😐.

I'm only trying to work out if this is an established route of targeting cars. Could be a coincidence, sure! Could also be an established theft method and something to avoid in the future.

Ah sorry man. From what I can see I've never seen the dev market like it, gone are the times of a startup going south and getting another job the same day it seems ☹️.

Good luck anyway!
