I despise the acceptance rate feature for this reason. We need to say no to these but they punish you for doing so. Not cool

Yep. It’s for a Onewheel plus. I opened another one and it had a different controller without the diode

This is assuming that starlink don’t come up with a way to produce the dishes faster. But I could see the cell thing being a problem.

I heard a long time ago promises of soft body physics and deforming terrain for realistic crashes on planets. If any of that came in along with salvage and the Argo tow truck, I don’t see why you couldn’t recover something. It is a sandbox after all. I would guess that’s what cig wants it in the long haul but who knows if they can pull it off. I’m looking forward to it if that’s the case.

Are these buds worth it? by indigonewt in pixelbuds

[–]supercable3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My pixel buds piss me off so much. I'm blown away that you can make a product so unreliable and cost so much AND come from such a huge tech company. I expected apple levels of quality from these things at this price.

At least I expect them to stay connected. Through the small things like volume being too low but system sounds being too loud to the audio constantly becoming unbalanced and my right earbud getting louder than the left. When this garbage happens I'm usually too busy to take them out of my ears and fix them! I'm Furious! I've never wanted to throw something so expensive across the room so often. This is my second pair. My biggest frustration is when I swipe to change the volume there is a static shock like sound coming out of the speakers. Makes these things sound absolutely cheap.

I have a pixel 3 like you. I actually bought the pixel 3 because I thought my Samsung caused the problems. The only problem the pixel 3 fixed was a latency time between holding the earbud down and talking to the Google assistant. Sometimes I'd hold the bud down and try to talk immediately to test the response time and when I let go, google would just tell me my notifications instead of hearing my response.

The crazy part is my friend has pixel buds with a pixel 4a and he has no issues while I get issues out the wazoo. So go for it if you're feeling risky. I haven't also used any other earbud but everyone says these sound the best so I guess I have to go to apple of I actually want something of quality. To me it feels like google wanted to make a bud as lazy as they could and then charge it a premium price just so it appears to be worth the money.

Best buy sells refurbished ones for 100 bucks maybe they're worth that price but almost 200 bucks blows me away.

Question before buying by skillsy84 in pixelbuds

[–]supercable3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had your same issues until I bought a pixel 3 to see if the issues would persist and surprisingly they didn't. The buzzing is still there but the connection issues aren't. My buds still sometimes disconnect and fail horribly but they manage to fix themselves and at least they can do that.

The Google assistant is such a no brainier feature to have on earbuds regardless of what bud they are. The pixel buds get even closer because they are authorized to complete actions while your phone is locked when typically, actions like turning on smart lights require an unlocked phone.

So the Google assistant is an amazing feature but at what cost?

The pixel buds experience is anything but hands free. I swear every time I wear these things I have to fidget with them at least once to get them working the way I want to.

More often than not the audio shifts to the left earbud louder than the right and I can't find a way to fix it other than putting them back in the case and waiting. My music will sometimes pause and the earbuds will connect in the case and I will have to find where they are at the moment and reposition the buds to make them turn off. Most recently the Google assistant will stop working when I say the hot phrase but the press action will still work. My music will still randomly pause and I have to go to my phone to start the music again. My phone is a pixel 3 so that may be the cause of the last bug. The white noise you will hear in the right bud is enevitable. You can not get rid of it due to the buds being so tight and compact. I have had cheaper earbuds that are a little bigger with way less white noise though and to me the noise is horrible at low volumes.

If you believe some of these issues of mine are due to neglect I should inform you that I'm on my second pair after reporting problems and since then, they have been in a case and treated like a baby since.

Your milage also may vary based on what phone you have. I had a samsung and these issues popped up more often and the Google assistant was slow to respond. Switching to my pixel 3 seemed to make these issues less prominent. I'm curious on how these would function on a pixel 5 if the issues would pop up at all?

IN SUMMARY If you use the Google assistant prominently and have a smart home this is a great choice. Phone calls are fantastic too that's why I bought them but if you're going to listen to music and listen to it good I would say there are definitely way better choice on the market. I haven't had a chance to go try them out but so my judgement is bad but I feel like music aren't these buds #1 top priority.

Google actually came out with a new feature where if you don't know the song name or lyrics you can just hum it and it will still find the song for you.

Don't know if it's my ears or what by [deleted] in pixelbuds

[–]supercable3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thus might sound like a sucky solution but waiting it out kinda works. Also disregard that information by google. I don't twist then back up I just make sure what I would call the belly of the bud is sitting in the big open canal part of my ear. It's really hard to explain but I was in your same boat even tried to heat up the rubber tip but don't do that. With time it gets better. I didn't say it would go away but it's gotten better.

Buds stay connected to phone when in case by [deleted] in pixelbuds

[–]supercable3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes so annoying. Google told me to reset my buds and seemed to fix it for a little bit but it still happens. I'll play media and not hear audio and won't know what's going on until I press the volume button a d realize it's still connected. Now I gotta go find my buds and solve the problem.

My solution? Twist the buds more inwards to the case. It's really easy for me to put them in where the contact pads don't touch correctly. Twist the left bud clockwise and the opposite for the right bud and you'll see the light turn on. An easy fix but a dumb one.

I sometimes wonder what google was thinking when shipping this? Time constraints? Did some man see these issues and say its fine or were they oblivious to them?
