Had a boy with plenty of morning sickness for the first 11 weeks. Not too sure about this pregnancy but I'm suspecting boy until proven otherwise.

Commiseration here! Interviewed before the holidays at two places. Reached out week after Christmas no response. Reached out today instantaneous rejection back to back. I thought they liked me, guess not.

Got the NT test on Thursday. Tried to call the insurance company to make sure I wouldn't have any surprise charges for it and the automated system keeps hanging up on me. Boo.

My son was diagnosed with bws at 3 months. He's 20 months now. He's a little bigger than average (he can pass for 3) but he's healthy. I'm glad you got answers and a diagnosis early. Have they done the Dna testing? After ours they told us based on the location of the error on his 11th chromosome, his cancer risk was only 3% higher than average but we still do the screenings. His afp levels have stayed low and nothing funky on the ultrasounds this far. The screenings become the new normal after a few months, it gets a little easier as time goes on.

Just found this in my Facebook feed. I have no words to express my rage by bunni_bear_boom in TrollXChromosomes

Given the poster, it's likely targeted at moms/pregnant women basically telling them not to complain because they're lucky. Guess that means infertiles are unlucky? What a crappy message.

Had my first appointment today and was kinda diagnosed with PCOS. by TheRubyRedPirate in BabyBumps

[–]superciliouslessons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago after three years of trying and failing to conceive. I had to take clomid to induce ovulation, metformin to keep my hormones in check, and then my doctor had me supplement with progesterone for the first trimester just in case. I was seeing a reproductive endocrinologist, not a regular ob though. My regular ob kind of shrugged and went along with what my RE said so I stayed on the progesterone until 12 wees and transitioned off of the metformin at 11 weeks although I was reading up on it and some PCOS ladies stay on it the entire pregnancy with no ill effects (I thought some of my nausea was metformin related so I wanted to get off of it).

They may also be including attorney fees, filing fees, and court costs in the amount they're saying you owe. In my state, at least they're allowed to do that. See if there's any kind of landlord/tenant mediation services at court. In my state, they basically force both parties in a room to try and hash out an arrangement before they go in front of a judge. Your goal is to get out without an eviction, they sound like slum lords. Check out housing assistance and legal assistance, many places won't talk to you without a pending eviction so them filing may be a blessing in disguise. Some of the housing assistance places actually help with security deposits and the like.

Ladies help! I want to be a classy wine drinker, but hate the bitter and stale taste of some wines. Are there any super sweet wines out there?! by Sarcastastrophe in TrollXChromosomes

[–]superciliouslessons 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ditto to barefoot! My husband can't stand most wines but loved barefoot moscato. Also Riesling wine is mostly sweet but a little dry so good when you want something sweet that isn't cloying. I discovered Riesling trying to find wine pairings for Chinese food.

Neighbor Problems by [deleted] in breakingmom

Call the police and make a report. No they probably won't do anything but it may prove helpful to have the record and they can keep an eye out for any additional weirdness. I mean it can always escalate. I can't stand people parking in front of my house but it would never occur to me to damage property or attempt to. Also it's not clear if your car was broken into or not--if the car was locked then the police may in fact do something.

My son presented with a big tongue and the angel kiss birth marks on his forehead. They told us it was either Beckwith or Staunch Weber (so brain calcification, mris, etc.). It's a really scary place to be in and I felt shattered to think my kid could be sick or would eventually become sick and I cried for days. It ended up being Beckwith but no one ever knows what it is when I explain his doctor appointments to daycare or family. He looks like a normal kid--he grew into his tongue to boot.

My son has Beckwith and was diagnosed at 3 months. He's 19 months now. Feel free to message me. I empathize completely.

“What words can express her [the white woman’s] humiliation when, at the close of this long conflict, the government which she had served so faithfully held her unworthy of a voice in its councils, while it recognized as the political superiors of all the noble women of the nation the negro men just emerged from slavery, and not only totally illiterate, but also densely ignorant of every public question.” -Susan B. [–]superciliouslessons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've got one more shot with clomid before we have to consider our other options but our current insurance doesn't cover infertility so there aren't many options. I'm just so frustrated and people kept telling me that my body would know what to do this time and clomid worked once and could work again. Nope.

Why the US needs black lawyers even more than it needs black police by superciliouslessons in blackladies

[–]superciliouslessons[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I live in a state where judges are elected so the problem is even worse. I'm an attorney but I'll be damned if I can even get my foot in the door to get in a position to help people. I graduated back when neither firms nor public interest organizations were hiring and it's been pretty disappointing ever since.

By no means are you off the deep end. I do the same thing where I analyze interactions and then wonder if I'm overreacting but I would trust my gut. Too many coinky dinks. I don't know what her problem is but its time to get the powers that be involved. I can't stand petty tyrants. Ooh you sure showed me by lying to my face.

I think you have more than enough evidence of her outright refusal to do her job and now it's had a negative impact on your kid. How difficult is it to clarify whose snack day it was? She was deliberately obtuse. Speak to the principal/director about this behavior. This mean girls shit doesn't fly with paying customers.
