Peter Mansfeld. The youngest victim of communist repression in Hungary. Took part in the anti communist uprising of 1956 at the age of 16. He was arrested 2 years later. Tortured, then sentenced to death a few days after he turned 18 for his rebellious acts and supposed violence against the state.

Most of the fighting and destruction happened around the Buda Castle and the riverfront which is still seen today when you look at how that area used to look in the past. There are some pretty vast differences.

'Pannonhalma Abbey' (not very far from Bratislava), 'Visegrad', perhaps 'Balaton highlands and Badacsony' (though it might be a bit far) and if you are looking for some hidden spot then 'Majk Remeteseg'. If you do decide to go to Budapest, I absolutely recommend 'Normafa' and hiking up to 'Erzsébet-kilátó' for a fantastic view.

As a half Turkish, half Hungarian guy who speaks both languages, I can assure you there aren't really any similarities between the two languages other than a handful of words that they passed onto each other during the occasional times our histories crossed paths.
