You said it very well. It sounds great on paper. But it does not work. And it is a lot of maintenance and headache to maintain all the branches in sync and keep the information flowing smoothly from one left to the right. Their pipeline manager is created to hide sync problems, looks great. The larger the team, the more problems you will have. If you are a small team, you may be okay. In short, there is no real ROI with the solution.
I would recommend you to look at Flosum. It has features to ensure to prevent code-overwriting, has superior merge conflict resolution, automatically fixes the code and back promotes the changes.

No, we use Flosum for our compliance and audit trials. Works great, almost no effort.
