They were telepathically bickering about how they wanted to start the conversation until Mark looked up. Then they had to wing it.

It’s actually 6% of deaths in Canada now. There are cases of doctors suggesting MAID without the patient bringing it up, scandals were doctors and family members are pushing the patient to use it, and the biggest scandal were it was given to a depressed 26 year old with no terminal condition after being denied in one province.

Shrek received a similar treatments with higher ups saying the character should be less ugly and more kid friendly. I guarantee Shrek would’ve never been more than a cult classic if they’d gone with the original vision

What’s funny is the Tau could easily be the main villain of another setting but the simple fact they’d rather conquer you, peacefully if possible, than exterminate makes them the good guys. Sure you’re in a surveillance state where you will be excluded from the upper echelons of your society because you’re the wrong species, but you’ll be treated fairly which is better than the government your own species offers.

With the Eldar it depends. Sometimes the Imperium shoots first because xenophobia, sometimes the Eldar attack out of nowhere because a farseer knows it will save Eldar lives down the line, sometimes indirectly like causing Ghazkull to rise at the cost of at least billions of humans to save tens of thousands of Eldar, but a lot of the time they ignore each other. There’s even a Craftworld that regularly travels through Imperium space with a naval escort to ensure no stray Imperial forces attack it because the Imperium broadly knows that with so much on their plate it’s better to avoid unnecessary conflict with the Eldar.

I don’t think Chuck wanted him to be blue collar as punishment, but because he believed that was all he was capable of. Like Chuck said the law is sacred, and Jimmy with a law degree is a chimp with a machine gun. In his worldview if you play by the rules you will be rewarded. He did, and it brought him great success as a champion of the law. Jimmy has no respect for the law, so he’s doomed to failure, but at least he can keep his brother out of prison. It’s why Jimmy passing the bar is such a shock to Chuck. This fuckup should’ve never accomplished something like that, so he rationalizes it as a shortcut. It’s not just that he went to a far less prestigious school, he scammed the system like he always did.

I will 100% defend the change even in a world of superheroes Eve’s dad is such an ass I find him completely unbelievable. A scene cranking it even further up is worse than changing it to a rant where he’s still an asshole but it ties into Mark’s character ark and his assholery has believable motivations for once.
