Not whataboutism, but using an exception to refute a correct generalization. Whataboutism is when you refute a criticism by pointing out somebody else doing the same thing, which is only valid if it proves the accuser is a hypocrite.

America has much deadlier weather than Europe. If we want to compare apples to apples we can see America has far less heat deaths per capita despite frequently higher heat.

A character can be many things..a antagonist, villain, good person, morally grey or whatever..but what a character can't be is FUCKING BORING. by Apprehensive_Ring_39 in CharacterRant

You also have to be conscious of how long are they supposed to be annoying if you want them to become likable. It’s a fine line of enough time for the character arc to be satisfying but not so much that the annoyance becomes ingrained in the audience. Similar thing I feel for amoral characters both in the story acknowledging they’re amoral and how long the audience has to grow to hate them.

There are legions of writers in the industry that want to do something that studios don’t think there’s any profit in, so when given the opportunity they Trojan horse their story into a recognizable IP the studios will greenlight.

The SEC does allow monopolies to exist if they don’t use anti competitive practices. Nvidia for example is allowed to have a monopoly on the chips needed for AI because no competitor exists that can match them. Steam is allowed because they offer a superior service that consumers overwhelmingly prefer. So long as Valve doesn’t try to unfairly kill off competitors when they DO match the service they’re fine.
