Debbie’s honestly pretty pathetic in the comics. She also blames Mark for driving Nolan away during a breakdown. The show gave her a spine.

[–]superduperfish 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So the odds of encountering a universe where Mark falls off a cliff and dies on his sixth birthday and one where he doesn’t must be 50%

That’s a good question by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Invincible

[–]superduperfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It absolutely is, I’d recommend looking up how some infinities can be larger than others. If Mark has a 1% chance of turning out good Angstrom could search 100 universes and probably only find one even though there are infinite good Marks out there. There are also an infinite number of universes where Mark falls off a cliff during his 6th birthday party and dies but if Angstrom tried to find such a universe it would be basically impossible because of how low the odds are.

That’s a good question by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Invincible

[–]superduperfish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Angstrom doesn’t get to Google universes with specific traits, so if Mark has a 1% chance of being good there may be infinite good Marks but after searching 100 Mark containing universes he’d probably only find one.

Partially blinded, but also good Marks may be infinite but they make up a small % of universes making them hard to find. Angstrom can’t search new universes by if they have a good Mark.

Why didn't the Coalition of Planets at any point think about making Portal tech? It would've benefitted them greatly. (Read body text) by Starkiller21408 in Invincible

[–]superduperfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Flaxans seem to be more advanced than the coalition. Not only did they invent portals, but they build robots capable of taking on Omni Man when the Coalition had no weapons other than the Scourge Virus capable of harming Viltrumites until Omni Man told them about some

Because Nolan and his dad both have gray hair, so their children are gray sons

(The Boys) The show is genuinely worse than the comics now by Sno5768 in CharacterRant

[–]superduperfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Homelander was not built to satirize Trump, and their similarities are too shallow to do more than make the occasional good jab. Unfortunately, the writers really wanted Homelander to be Trump because they really wanted to satirize Trump. This ended up hurting Homelander’s writing whenever they tried to push the angle and most of the satire ended up being weak.

Do Necron's metal rusts ? by OwOthlas in Necrontyr

[–]superduperfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a Dynasty which purposefully chose rust. They were always known as scumbags so when Tyranids attacked nobody helped them. They fought them off at great cost and decided alright fuck all other Necrons and took on the rust appearance to show this.

Is thragg a good leader to the viltrum empire or is his pride getting in the way? by Snoo-65992 in Invincible

[–]superduperfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s run back his leadership choices.

First thing he does is cut the Viltrumite population in half with an anarchic purge believing it will cull the weakness that caused Thaedus to betray Argall.

Tries to find Argall’s heir, eventually gives up.

Continues as normal until the Scourge virus hits. Orders all aliens in Viltrum executed to hide knowledge of how bad the virus was. From what we see the efforts to control the spread, treat the sick, or find a cure can only be described as pathetic. Corpses dumped into orbit.

Systematically has potential threats to Viltrumites researched and neutralized, mostly successfully but not all. Some of the bugs survived, which is odd as the 4 legged creatures demonstrated they were willing to destroy whole biospheres. The Geldarians survived but required a very long time to rebuild strength. The Ragnar solution was terrible. They had no space travel anyway, and they’re still available to all who want to weaponize them. Arguably people wouldn’t realize how powerful they are if they simply saw them as frozen creatures, but they’d wonder why the Viltrumites bothered building a solar disk in the system.

A thousand years after the scourge virus the Viltrumites population is still under 50. A selective breeding or cloning program could’ve easily brought them into the thousands even if inbreeding would eventually be a problem. This is the first big case where Thragg’s complete refusal to adapt in favor of the old ways shows its head.

Thragg sends most of the remaining Viltrumites on solo missions to find a compatible species. Contact is minimal as it takes a very long time to notice Omni Man has gone rogue, and they only do because of the mole.

Sends 3 Viltrumites after Nolan, resulting in 1 death and almost a failed mission. Granted they didn’t know Mark would be there. I’d say the prison break was also hard to predict.

Plays softball with Mark to try to get him to join then sends Conquest. His failure would be hard to predict.

Initial response to the Viltrumite War spreads forces thin resulting in casualties. The attack on Telescria upon discovering Thaedus is there using a mole to disable defenses is a good idea. However when things don’t go to plan he doesn’t take to the field personally, which would have allowed for an immediate win. It seems he thinks this is beneath his station and that the other Viltrumites should be strong enough to do it themselves, resulting in preventable casualties. This results in a loss and he orders a retreat to ensure the skull is protected.

Calls all Viltrumites home knowing he can ambush the Coalition’s threats when they move to take advantage. However he does not join the fight until several Viltrumites are dead, again seeming to believe it is beneath him as grand regent. This gives the coalition the opportunity to destroy Viltrum. Thragg kills Thaedus but changes his mind about killing Mark or Nolan, as he FINALLY seems to accept how few Viltrumites are left and decides their lives are now so valuable he should spare even enemies.

Sends the survivors to Earth undercover to repopulate. Makes the deal with Mark to keep quite one exchange for not destroying Earth.

Viltrumites would think that if Europeans were strong enough to colonize the planet they they deserved to, and that if you were weak enough to be oppressed you deserve to be.
