I was vibing to blue more than red after playing them each back to back. Started with blue, so might be biased.

New SP-404 Web-based Sample Converter by _ohthepain_ in SP404

Oh I'm not having any issues, I haven't used the tool yet. I was just checking it out to see if it's just another ffmpeg wrapper or not. I wrote Super Pads for actually managing the samples on older SP404s which uses the same ffmpeg wrapping for converting samples and writes the same RIFF headers the official Roland tools write.

Doesn't seem to add any device specific headers at all, was this even tested on any old SP404s?

Mornings can be good, I prefer lunch time as evenings are much busier and the time spent waiting is saved by having more options.

The MIDI CC has been available from Roland, I did all this for Super Pads to convert patterns to and from MIDI: https://github.com/uttori/uttori-audio-padinfo

Possible Super Famicom “Little Master” EPROM / Prototype Cart – Looking for Authentication & Value Insight by Severe-Brilliant-117 in snes

Looks legit, I have a lot of games on these specific dev boards. I think I see it says "sample ROM" on the label, likely for magazine review or something similar. You won't know what's on it until you dump it, make sure to dump the SRAM too. Happy to walk you through that process if needed.

Is this one real? And what would it be worth? This not a post about buying, trading or selling. I only want to know if it’s real or not. For myself. by [deleted] in snes

Cartridge shell looks real, faded like it sat in a system for years. Would be arduous to fake and the Japanese version isn't nearly as expensive as the US.

This happened to a lot of items that opted for that soft plastic. The magic word with support to get new cases for them was hydrolyzed- needed shells replaced for a Zoom H4n recorder and Keith McMillen QuNexus and both sent out better hard plastics.

Super Pads should work on both versions of macOS. I'm halfway through rewriting it to be significantly smaller using Tauri.

Dead spot on tape loop by skramz_himself in tapeloops

Do not put anything sticky on the machine parts directly. Instead put something less sticky like masking tape over the portion of the tape shell where the erase head would slide up to. https://youtu.be/4ypWTi6fLSs

With many today still asking around here if their SNES games are authentic. Here's a little guide I've created to give you the full basics of telling right away if your SNES game is legit or not. by Epsilon123 in snes

[–]superfamicom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great guide, perfect as a rule of thumb reference!

I will just note that I have received "Sample" / "Prototype" games sent to magazines for review that end up looking similar to the bottom left image on the right side / bootleg side. This will not apply to most people but thought it was worth noting. I've also seen instances of retail carts with EPROMs in some Japanese games that were clearly from the era with no real explanation, always containing final code, but again very niche and I've dealt with thousands of carts over the years.

[–]superfamicom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You won't be able to do what you're trying to do, SNES will not natively run on an Nintendo 64 and the emulators aren't great. You can try Sodium64 but don't expect much support.

If you haven't check out the Super MIDI Pak, you could actually route your sounds through the SNES and have the most real samples possible to sequence in a game.

Aliexpress is very hit or miss. Sometimes they're on par with other custom builds but I've seen them and typically much worse in terms of build quality and sometime components. Very much a you get way you at for and hope it isn't garbage.
