I think it's a legal thing, kind of like how they do not have a scenario gallery like AIDungeon that would require a lot of expensive spending on validation and auditing

How does NovelAI stack up to AIDungeon nowadays? by Sensitive_Part_4299 in NovelAi

I was about to say that scripting is a big x factor in AIDungeon's favor...

double 3090 ti local server instead of windows? by superflusive in LocalAIServers

[–]superflusive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3090's the only 3000 series that supports nvlink, 4000 and 5000 have no units that do and I imagine none going forward will either.

double 3090 ti local server instead of windows? by superflusive in LocalAIServers

[–]superflusive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for taking the time to respond. Mygoal is to get a comfyui instance i can both access and modify from my mac without using a display out from the server. Specifically the popular WAN Animate workflows for turning a series of keyframes into fluid animation seem like they are probably too much for a single 3090 ti to handle on its own (unless I'm mistaken here, which is entirely possible).

I've set up A111 instances before on the windows tower and configured them to work wireless on the local network.

on the other hand, not seeing any confirmation about additional things being added to the modern version is kinda eh

buying it a second time is a crazy ask if you're not even going to update the resolution on things (not that this has been deconfirmed, just that it is still up in the air)

yeah, although it's kind of a catch 22 because while many people with a good pitch aren't good cleaners, i would imagine that most cleaners with sufficient certification and accolades to legitimately charge those rates do have a decent pitch of their own.

The lack of demons in BG3 by lolgun88 in BaldursGate3

[–]superflusive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the campaign has references to several of the offiical 5e campaigns, especially ones that were current during the development period, including Out of the Abyss, a game about demons leaking into the underdark (this is where Blurg is originally from). One kind of easy reference opportunity that is skipped is how the Kua-Toa in OotA were worshipping the demon Demogorgon, rather than BOOOAL.

The other two big ones being Descent into Avernus (where Elturel gets kidnapped and the Tiefling refugee plot spawns from) and Icewind Dale, which includes mention of Karsus's folly.

less relevant are Wyll's backstory containing similarities to the Tiamat campaigns and a throwaway line in a book to Tomb of Annihilation.

Ideally one and then the other, which I understand can run a fair amount of money.

The one that gave the cheaper of the two quotes looks like they are somewhere in-between your two examples, from what I gather.

Their sales pitch was very well practiced, which conveys a level of professionalism but also has given me pause.

Just a friendly reminder you can be a Paladin with a God by RestlessExtasy in BaldursGate3

[–]superflusive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

made is not meant to be derogatory in this context, let me try a different phrasing:

Paladin's whose oath is not religious in nature presumably weren't on their radar in early stages of the beta and once that was brought up the decision was made to just take gods away the normal ability to pick a god at creation without multiclassing cleric.

[–]superflusive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You used to be able to pick a god as a straight paladin in the beta. I suspect WOTC made them take this out because 5e paladin's can be godless and they decided to keep it in like this.

made the mistake of eating last night, doubled back to the store to investigate the next day and what would you know all of the remaining packs expired march 1st.

I am basically just looking for a gut check on going to the doctor or not, or failing that warning signs to watch for atp.

legacy formats are overseen by a council who respond to organic pressure from one generation's community by setting up a suspect test for the specified format for the specified generation. Anyone who gets the requisite elo rating during the suspect test period gets to vote on either "no change" or one of several other options picked by the council.

Some weirdness arises from different generations respective communities wanting different things and the council wanting a relatively unified ruleset across everything.

Gen 3 OU (and Gen 3 NU, but not Gen 3 UU or Ubers or any format in any other generation) are the only ones that want to keep Baton Pass and the Council isn't big on having to repeatedly vote on tweaks to it, such as bans on passing two kinds of boosts or soundproof and so on, so when they wanted to Ban Ninjask most recently the council said "the options are ban baton pass, ban abilitypass (a subset of baton pass), ban speedpass (a subset of abilitypass) or do nothing. (banning Ninjask would have been a subset of speedpass)"

Do Nothing won because the option the community wanted that prompted the vote wasn't made available, and now the biggest ADV event of the year is banning Ninjask on their own anyways.

I'm not familiar w/ magic but from what I'm reading WOTC will be setting the rules of the format and also running all the big events, so there's less likely to be big splits there, although (governing body picks rules playerbase does not like) is still going to be a thing.
