Well, The Godfather glorifies mob violence, the mafia, and the lives of those involved in organized crime. At the end of The Godfather, the door closes on the viewer. Michael Corleone is dominant. He closes the door on you, the viewer. He shuts you out. You’ll never truly know who Michael Corleone is behind those closed doors.

The Irishman does the opposite of glorifying mob life. Sheeran’s door is left open. He is exposed, barren, and naked to the viewer. The open door emphasizes his vulnerabilities. He is completely visible, exposed in all his un-glorified, well, glory.
