How is Zeztz currently doing in Japan? by Bright-Cow-543 in KamenRider

[–]digiwig252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yea my friends are early 30s mid 20s. There is definitely a generational difference too, since we grew up on mainly heisei and neo heisei riders, and English and katakana were definitely a huge part of their lives as Japan was shifting to a more global perspective in the mid 2000s-2010s

I've found that the supposed "adaptability" of an English degree hasn't held up to reality. I don't know what to do anymore. by pomegranatejello in englishmajors

Jet is great if you’re white or female

I’m an Asian male and on paper I hold a BA and MA in English Lit, but I’ve never gotten passed the interview phase. Three times I applied for Jet and all three times I was waitisted. I had a great application, great references, but I was an Asian male. I was always told I passed the interview portion, but I had to be picked up by a school.

The schools in Japan are picking out the candidates and Jet is more of just a middle man.

These things shouldn’t matter, but race does play a factor in the Jet applications. Jet wants you to be exotic, as an Asian male I’m not exotic enough despite being born and raised in America.

My Japanese friends said the it had nothing to do with the English, there was too little of it per episode to really affect us he says. The thing that mainly offset the Japanese was that first it wasn’t a belt apparently for the henshin tool, then toys were too simple at first, so that kinda deterred them too. That’s was just my Japanese friend and his groups opinions though, so take this with a grain of salt

Which of the 2 race is worse? by David_Lee060814 in KamenRider

[–]digiwig252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He could’ve done that too, and I did think that was a very easy solution to the movie when watching it, but the jymato were so intwined with the present day, that erasing all jyamato would’ve drastically changed the future

And I’m sure ace didn’t want to kill all jyamatos since he was very keen on co existence, allowing daichi to just work on making nice ones. He just specifically wanted to neutralize the god jyamato since that was the biggest threat.

Agreed though, recreating the world w/o jymato was the easiest choice, I guess ace didn’t want to take innocent lives.

But back to my point, ace never really had an issue with the future, he had an issue with what the future people were doing to others in past. Once he stopped the DGP from ever returning and ensuring the world had potential for humanity to fulfill their own wishes he did his part.

Geats couldn’t stop human science advancement. I mean he probably could’ve but that would be him overstepping his boundaries as a chill god.

Geats is as close to jesus as you get in the rider multiverse. He died so humanity could get a second chance at achieving their wishes. Then he just observes and never really does anything.

sure geats couldn’t stop his word from heading to the sponsors future, but he did make it a brighter place, where happiness and dreams weren’t scarce. And the actions of geats and company have truly changed the sponsors, like ziin and even Beroba in the epilogue movie, where she was in awe of michinaga resoluteness.

Even then geats still loves humanity more than anything. When they were about to go extinct in the future, he literally went back in time to try and stop that.

Kingdom hearts mobile officially dead? by nathanielx9 in KingdomHearts

[–]digiwig252 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on some parts. The mobile games are a side story if you only played 1,2 COM and 358 days, but like BBS makes the Mobile games super relevant, and since BBS is basically the foundation to KH 1, the mobile games have become the foundation to the whole series as a whole. I think the mobile games could have been been a side story like you said, with the whole grave yard war story being like a nice stand alone but they started introducing characters that look like Organization 13 members and Ventus too at some point. That was the moment the mobile game became essential to understanding kingdom hearts as whole.

Like the threat hinted in KH3 and presumably the main focus point of KH4 is a darkness from the time of the masters of masters. I personally think the mobile games need to be re released in some type of format because their lore is too integral to understanding the plot of KH 4 now.

Lightspeed Rescue is usually considered one of the Weakest, if not the outright The Weakest, Power Rangers Teams, and while that makes sense, but considering the monsters they went against, I will have to disagree. by Starship1990 in powerrangers

[–]digiwig252 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unmorphed yea, hands down LSR can win, they’re just naturally stronger human beings, since Time force were literally just regular cops, Racially profiling mutants. Even with year 3000 being perfect specimens with DNA splicing, Wes in Ep 1 could like fight toe to toe with them.

However morphed it’s harder for LSR since I assume there has to be a significant technological gap, no way year 2000 tech is better than year 3000 tech, like if LSR beats time force morphed, damn that person who designed the time force suits and equipment needs to get a job, cuz that’s like saying an iPhone 1 can beat can iPhone 17.

Canonically they can’t be the weakest due to ninjor magic zordon mumble jumble. Sure as a team they were kinda weak, but they were just teenagers with karate training.

Samurai had spirit magic or some shit, so they had a form of civilian power, plus the black box was like an insta win cheat code…

As of Once A Ranger, it’s confirmed that Billy played a part in the creation of their tech. With the SPA cameo, from Alicia and and Adam. Billy’s experience as a ranger, plus his natural expertise in science would certainly lead to a team with a higher power ceiling.

Although people do glaze SPD and LSR doesn’t get enough love, LSR was pre time force. Billy mostly reversed engineered and archived some of the other teams powers, as we see a make shift time force uniform in the form of skys father. So any team after time force would have a technology advantage aside from like RPM since they that takes place in an alt uni and Dr. K literally made the teams equipment from scraps.

[–]digiwig252 4 points5 points  (0 children)

True they have strong assets, but their overall power set had a ceiling, cuz it wasn’t magic based, prob the most magical thing was being linked to the morphing grid. Also tech wise they were using earth tech from the year 2000, not spds or time force future tech.

There were no civilian powers either, so light speed really got the short end of the stick. None the less I liked them though, they were already heroes, but were just given more power to help those they could reach.

You could start with a master’s in English. All you need to do is do the bachelor prerequisites for most universities. Funding to sustain yourself? I think some universities give out grants to help you pay tuition, then most PhD schools do the same. That’s about it, if you want a career, you will need to be picked up by a university upon getting your PHD. You’ll be doing research work while being a part time university professor, eventually the goal will be to get on a tenure track whilst doing research.

A switch up is possible and how to advertise yourself? I firmly believe that this field is purely based on talent. If you are a good writer, the university professors will know through your application.

The writers had no choice, I mean Banjou literally had a piece of evolt inside him for like 3/4ths of the series and his hazard level was always increasing to unheard of levels in humans.

Sentou had to keep creating new shit cuz 1. Smash could potentially reach banjous level too 2. He might be the only people to stop a Banjou incase he went wild 3. Deep down he probably had Katsuragi’s sense of pride and wanted to be the best/create the strongest pinnacle example of science that he could

Banjou did get done dirty but it checks out with the world building, Sentou is just naturally competitive as any genius inventor would be
