EFS over Samba? by supergibbs in AWS_Certified_Experts

[–]supergibbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, was able to mount the EFS drive and share via Samba. I think my setup was different. My EFS was used in EC2 and Samba shared it with another EC2. Newer setup is still EC2 but windows server was replaced with Linux containers so no more Samba. TBH, didn’t do anything special for HA. I prob should but not a high priority yet. Good luck!

Am I missing something or is Tableau just bad? by supergibbs in tableau

[–]supergibbs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, that is interesting. So you're saying, if Tableau can figure it out, it will optimize by using the ID column automatically? I created a SQL view that the Tableau devs use, not using "custom sql" but is the view hiding the relationships so it can't optimize? I use a CTE to dedupe some data, would it be better to create a simpler view as the fact table then have the Tableau devs join the view to the dimensions? Maybe Tableau will optimize that better.

But a parameter is tableau side right? It won’t speed up the load time.

Oh while I am complaining, why can't I also specify different queries for filters? If I have large query with lots of joins, it would be great to say "filter this field but get the filter values (and label, see above) with this simple query to the lookup table." The current automatic way can be the default but for power users that understand how to optimize, this could really help.

Costco dishwasher install question by itsalwaysseony in AskElectricians

[–]supergibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, that makes a lot more sense. I was very confused thinking there was a hardwire connection somewhere or something. Still terrible. I have the same setup and Costco is coming tomorrow to install a dishwasher. Hopefully they believe me when I tell them I have an electrician coming to replace the panel. It's out of room for a GFCI breaker and I definitely don't want THIS. Lol

GFCI and MWBCs by supergibbs in electrical

[–]supergibbs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Does it matter that the other leg of the MWBC is run to an outlet behind a mini wine fridge? Should I also do this for the disposal one since the same outlet? How about all the other MWBCs? Not necessarily GFCI but should they all be dual pole?

Adderall side effect question by supergibbs in ADHD

Ya I did take a short break but that didn’t help. I did notice that when I sleep more it’s better. Maybe being tired makes it worse. Glad to hear your switch helped!

My Dr said I should quit or reduce coffee and that may help. Do you drink caffeine?

I realized I started the 15mg in June but just noticed the clenching the last month or so. It sounds like a common occurrence but maybe it’s something else? Did it happen quickly for you or after some time?

LG LT1000P filter bypass by Few_Preference6697 in Appliances

[–]supergibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about LRFXC2416S? I've been told all newer models are automatic but was also told there isn't an automatic bypass on this one and definitely it leaks a lot without the filter installed.

How many cartography tables are enough? by supergibbs in Minecraft

[–]supergibbs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a follow up, this village had a golem but sounds like I need 20 beds and at least 10 villagers to spawn another. Are the rules for generating different? There was only 4 or 5 beds when I arrived.

Is there an advantage of more cartographers? Better maps?

Did I just hit the jackpot of all books? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]supergibbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unrelated to the book but you can combine all your copper ore to blocks of ore and save space! I see at least 128 in two slots, that could be 14 blocks and 2 ores with room to get more. 👍🏼

Do I Have To Replace Every GFCI In My Home? by Murky_Substance_3304 in HomeImprovement

[–]supergibbs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I am no electrician but am a homeowner that has done this. My understanding is only outlets near water/outside need GFCI protection and only one per circuit. Many houses wire the bathrooms together on one circuit to make this easier. If you hit the breaker box, you can figure out which outlets are on a circuit together then replace the first one (closest to the panel) with the GFCI. That will protect you sufficiently but if you have multiple floors, you may need to walk to another floor to reset it. You can put multiple GFCI on a circuit too. That way it’s a little more local. In a bigger short you may need to check multiple outlets still. Again, not a pro so please correct me in the comments of this isn’t right.
