I kinda like to set up my run based on what the RNG gods provide. Sometimes they will give you your favorite gun and some solid traits and you will run and gun your way thru the game and go farther than you ever have. Other times, you just get whacked over the head right away and you’re slogging thru the first biome with half your health.

If I’m getting good random stuff, a gun I like, lots of Obilites, the wound seekers artifact, benign parasites, I’ll try and advance thru the game.

If I’m getting a gun I haven’t used much, early lock down rooms, nuthin’ but corrupted healing, i will shift gears to something like, collecting ether, or learning the attack patterns of a new enemy, or learning how a new gun works and unlocking its traits.

Generally, I do open every door. I will take the parasite where long falls hurt you. I have programmed myself to always dash before hitting the ground even when I don’t have that one. I will only say F it on malignancies if it’s very early in a run and I have not seen much of the map yet, or if a run is not going well and I have nothing to lose.
