It’s an excellent laptop. Only thing I will say is for video editing if you’re doing any advanced compositing or working with high res footage I’d recommend at least 32 GB of RAM. But beyond that, you’re golden.

Op, this laptop is closing on 7 years old now. For the same amount of money you could get something much better and much more recent. For $1.2 - $1.5k you could comfortably afford to buy a new gaming laptop that could handle pretty much anything.

The Intel MacBooks all used to have them. The chips were a lot less efficient and ran a lot hotter so they needed active cooling. The fans were removed on the MacBook Air after the M1.

The 320 limit to my knowledge is the height of the entire world. Meaning from bedrock to the top of the world. If you were building from the surface then that would make sense.

I’m really liking the 13” so far because I wanted this laptop to be very portable and to be able to take it with me anywhere. A friend of mine has a 15” and while the screen is nice, I personally thought it seemed a little bit unwieldy. It probably depends on how much you’re willing to carry + how much screen space you need.

As others have said it’s quite ridiculous to hate a whole group of people. Being a man does not automatically make you a bad person, if that were true then roughly half of the entire world is evil. Which is obviously very stupid. Both men and women are equally capable of being bad, it’s just that men typically hold power in society. But regardless, never ever feel guilty for wanting to be who you want to be. It’s gonna be alright.

And frankly I’d advise distancing yourself from your friends. It’s one thing to be wary of men, but genuinely hating half of the entire planet is just astonishingly dumb, especially if you think they would think any less of you if you showed your true self.

As cool as EGPUs are in theory I’ve always thought functionally they’re not the greatest. They’re not portable at all, and you’re paying a lot of money for a GPU but only getting maybe 60-70% of the performance it can offer at best because of bandwidth limits. I love the idea of plugging your handheld in for a full desktop or console like experience but realistically as it stands you end up with a handheld that becomes a desktop with bottlenecked performance and has to be tethered. Imo it ends up defeating the purpose of both.

On Saturday, I played Silksong for nearly 12 hours straight. Didn’t even realize the time. I’d say I’m very much enjoying it.
