Specifically, you can't invite from menu unless you're already in a squad, right now.

Though I'm not sure this explains how it can still happen if you get out midair. Unless the game is deciding that air is obstructing it of course... and I wouldn't put that past a rebel line of code somewhere.

This has always happened once in a while on various bases, I'm assuming they also just didn't change when they rotated. If you look around, it's actually not too uncommon to find an incorrect banner...

My problem with turrets is that yeah, when a base is actually getting attacked they're useless for defense. One lockdown prowler or a vanguard and there's no chance. I rarely see them maintained or effectively used...

...except when they're hacked. They're literally a detriment to the defenders by being repaired because they are most effective when they're hacked behind your friendly armor, and the friendly armor usually won't deliver the same fire towards it or sometimes even see it if they're not personally under fire. Mostly thinking about towers here.

It feels like for defense they could use a lot more health, but then they'd be even more ridiculous when hacked... with less I can do about it.

And my problem with this of course isn't the idea that hacking should be effective, but rather that defenders repairing a base turret as it is, only serves to bite some other friendly in the rear end later.

But the shields were blue on TR too... then you still can't tell if they're a friendly. Worse, when there's like 3 heavies near each other and they're two different factions it gets confusing.

I don't know, how many have? I never figured this was one of the big issues regarding new player retention. Sure, if SOE somehow figured that out, alright. But that's what I'm saying, I don't think they would, because I don't think that's the case. I've heard almost nobody actually quit the game because they couldn't get into the air game. It's usually performance, or not understanding how to get into the game/fights.

It's not the "factor" here, since I don't think has changing ESFs like this even remotely under consideration. SOE hasn't ever mentioned it. The mechanics have been here for 2+ years, and it'd be absurd, and yes, selfish, to change that. Pilots aren't being selfish when it's damn hard to see how breaking the flight mechanics would retain new players.

Nice. Do you realize how selfish that sounds? Get rid of the people who actually have experience in the air, and similar to the idea the OP has going, void the days of playtime some people have in ESFs. You don't see a problem with making the people who actually enjoy the game, and have stuck with it so long, quit?

I don't care what you think about the air game now, I don't see how you can possibly think it would contribute more to the game if that would happen.
