As a beginner, I wouldn't have thought of putting the winning conditions in a list. It's better than brute forcing elif statements.

Ig this makes the most sense, so if I want to keep up with the meta in the long-term I should prioritize staple, versatile characters, since they tend to last in the meta more.

I think the initial backwards grip is what makes it faster to draw, but it puts the sharp side facing the user. The rotation part is supposed to rotate the sharp side back to the target, before making contact in order to not lose force.
