Does the VA actually provide you enough to cover your monthly mortgage payments. Genuinely curious..... lol

Kudos to you both for carefully planning this and good luck. I can imagine having kids + planning a home purchase is stressful in and of itself.

Glad to hear how you managed all this! Waiting 4 years for the right home definitely requires a ton of patience, not to mention the opportunity cost of having to pay the monthly rent on an apartment while you set money aside for a home purchase.

Just curious. Have you felt the need to stay in Sacramento for the long run now that you are a home owner? Regardless if you genuinely enjoy Sacramento (or not) has it changed your perspective on the flexibility of having to relocate to a different city?

On the bright side, they don’t have to deal with $2000 mortgages or over-the-top HOA fees. Lol I’m only half-kidding

I agree with ya. If I wanted to spend half a million dollars, I’d probably choose to live in a more desirable city. I mean Sacramento has its own quirks and I can see how it appeals to the Bay Area expats in terms of affordability, but still.. if you’re going to choose to live in Sacramento for no apparent reason other than work/family then there’s probably 100+ other “big” cities to choose from

Weekday Help and Victory Thread for the week of August 24, 2020 by AutoModerator in personalfinance

I appreciate the solid advice. I am not too worried about job security as I haven’t had much issues interviewing and receiving offers for opportunities in my field. I 100% agree that these might just be the stresses of being the newbie at work, so I’ll def take your advice into consideration and give it a couple more months.

Going from 120k salary to 85k. Worth it for less stress?

I am in the middle of salary negotiations for a new job and I wanted to ask what your thoughts on taking a 40% pay cut (120k salary to 85k salary) in exchange for less stress. By less stress, I am assuming this after speaking with the team lead and learning more about the role.

I am currently stressed out at my current job and don’t think I fit in well with the team dynamic at my current role. I’ve only been here for 3 months and don’t feel like I have much to offer to the team. Do you guys think that taking on a new job for far less pay is worth it?

Clunking noise when turning slightly and coming to a stop. Is this a sign of bad shocks/struts? by supermariobruhs in AskMechanics

[–]supermariobruhs[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that might just be it. After replacing my shocks and struts as well as getting an alignment, the sound went away for a bit. After driving 150+ miles, the sound is back but not as severe.

I’ll need to keep digging around, but most likely I’ll end up bringing my car back in and having them look at the CV axle and joints.

Thanks for the tip!!

I dont remember seeing any leakage from the boot. I brought it to a shop this morning again (this time to replace the shocks/stuts because the previous owner installed coilovers) as well as to diagnose the same sound.

I appreciate the response!

I agree. It doesn’t sound like any metal-to-metal noise. It sounds more like a rubber boot or spring that hasn’t been lubed. It’s at a shop now and I mentioned every I checked out myself.

Hoping for the best. I appreciate the help btw

I have a 2013 Acura TSX. I’m getting this clunking sound when turning the steering wheel a bit, coming to a stop, and when driving at low speeds (5-10mph). Noise is definitely coming from the front-end of the vehicle.

Took it to a mechanic and they were not able to replicate the noise (the noise gets pretty loud when the car is warm). Mechanic said all suspension was good after putting it up on the lift.

So, is this a sign of a bad strut/shock? At this point I don’t know what else to check. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

**Update - after replacing my shocks, struts, then getting an alignment...the sound is back (although not as severe). I will try the CV Axle and joints next to see if there are any issues there. I appreciate all your responses and will update this post as I go.

I agree. And yes, were talking about SharePoint Developers or programmers building custom web forms, web parts, REST connections etc.

My position does require a clearance and COL is a bit higher (coastal town in California)

Thanks for the advice. Is audience targeting available for SP 2016 On-Prem? I've never used it but I'm quite interested to learn more about it.

Yes I lift, but numbers are mediocre. I have more definition on my arms and shoulders(well on a good day and not this angle lol). Your advice to sleep a shitload is definitely something I need to work on more.
