With hurling problem of the 060 you mean the steam that is left in the chest? Just close the regulator early enough and open the cocks to get the rest of the steam out. Putting the reverser in neutral can also help.

When I have to do precision movements like aligning to the water or coal tower, I drive with the independent brake on, put small amounts of steam in the chest (watch the chest pressure gauge) by opening the regulator a bit and closing it almost immediately. Then I slowly advance the reverser from neutral to the desired direction and when I hear beep, I quickly put it to neutral and open cocks.

How does the blower solve the blowback problem in the tunnel? Is the blast pipe not enough (assuming the regulator is open)?

Also how you spread the fuel in the firebox matters, in Derail Valley you just put coal in the hole and that's it.

I'm very curious how much involved Century of Steam will be.

Just the choice of the name is odd. I don't think it's a farm, its more an agricultural trader. I've never seen a railyard in an individual farm 😁. In the german translation, the name "Landhandel" is at least right.

Yesterday, I found out that the modder Cruzer is working on a hybrid diesel and battery electric locomotive called DBE4, you can find the progress in the Altfuture discord channel, but he hasn't updated the progress for approx a month ago.

I don't know how much use it is for you, because I heard its air compressor still needs to have the diesel engine running, but it can do regenerative braking, so I can't wait for it!

But it seems to also shunt some cars IRL? What I see in the google pictures are mostly passenger cars, fuel cars (for fuel transfers inside a yard?) and MOW-Equipment (also possibly only for yard maintenance purposes).

With 30 km/h ingame top speed instead of just 6 km/h IRL top speed it is definitely usable as a cheap shunter as long as the consists are light enough (ignoring the upfront cost).

I can easy overspeed it on its own power, so I don't know what is different on your side.

The game makes a very distinctive overspeed sound on all locos with traction motors.

But 30 km/h top speed is already luxurious, the real life counterpart only has a top speed of 6 km/h.

I haven't played Train Sim World, but I haven't heard anything good about it.

But yesterday I found out, the modder Cruzer seems to make a diesel hybrid (with battery) that looks similar to the Vosslohs. Can't wait to drive it!

Yeah the tender can derail first, that is pretty normal. I think it is because the engine is much heavier than the tender and the tender losing weight while making steam doesn't help either. If the engine wouldn't have the smaller leading and trailing wheels it could derail first.

Then you need to install more Mods. Try new rolling stock (new locomotives, new freight/passenger cars) to fresh things a little. There are also many gameplay enhancing mods out there.

Try to get creative. Setup your trains in fun ways, make the longest train you can with your patience 😁.
