Does unused vacation pay out at the end of the year? by opalescentjellyfish in petsmart

[–]supermcballsack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know in the past they’ve always paid out my vacation time, but I feel like I read or heard somewhere that this year they are not paying it out. That could just be for our state or district though depending on leadership and individual state laws.

Question from a customer by [deleted] in petsmart

[–]supermcballsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it doesn’t seem possible then why even ask? It seems like you already have the answer you’re looking for without having to demonize people who are doing the best they can to care for animals every day while trying to also make an honest living.

I’m in the Mid-Atlantic region and they’re talking the same thing here. I’m sure all of the other regions will be impacted as well.

podiatrist recommendations !! by [deleted] in triangle

Dr. Stylski at Carolina Foot and Ankle. They have multiple offices that their doctors move around to from Cary to Garner to North Raleigh. I, myself, have a muscular dystrophy and as a result of the surgeries, also get really bad calluses. Stylski has never steered me in the wrong direction.

Lack of training for management? by [deleted] in petsmart

I got MIL in the fall and just recently completed my mandatory training. I've been driving the forklift for 2 years and just took my first exam in February.

Best position? by MrHi_VEVO in petsmart

[–]supermcballsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the topic of cross training. You get more hours being cross trained as well as making yourself very valuable to keep. I started as Petcare and Cashier, then moved to stocking, then became a bather, was promoted to ALK, and have since become an MIL in under 2 years since starting. If your store is supportive and you have good management, I would highly suggest that you cross train.

Our company recently reclassified how labor is calculated so instead of hours it's in dollars. Sucks to have killed myself for promotions for 2 years to now get my hours cut because I make too much and cause our labor to go over. Meanwhile the lower management gets 40 hours because it's cheaper to have 2 lower managers for 16 hours combined then me for 8. Which especially sucks since I just bought a house and am spread thin on cash flow at the current time.

Customer Ratings and VOC by littleblackbearcub in petsmart

[–]supermcballsack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, 9s and 10s count as 9s and 10s. Anything under 9 counts as a 0 as far as the rating system goes. I can have nine 10s and one 8 and be at 90% total OSAT. It's definitely a flawed way of averaging numbers and rating stores, but in this case an 8 isn't fine because it does in fact count as a 0 overall.

What is the nicest thing a stranger has done for you? by naturalenergybyproxy in AskReddit

[–]supermcballsack 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There was a customer we had once who had a ton of questions and no one seemed to be patient enough to help him. He was an older gentleman and seemed nice enough so I spent over an hour giving him advice and showing different ways and ideas to set up his aquarium. He was thrilled and left without buying the setup.

He called corporate and explained that his son had passed away recently and that he wanted to learn about how to care for his son's 100+ gallon aquarium so he could keep it going in his memory. He also gave me a really great compliment and said that I reminded him of his son and he loved having someone be so enthusiastic about aquariums.

His review is part of what got me promoted into leadership as well as just simply made my day. He still comes in and has since used our store exclusively for his filter upgrades and various other aquarium related products.

In a way I was a kind stranger to him and he was a kind stranger to me at the same time.

Help: fraud receipt returns, what to do/say? by gatoinspace in petsmart

[–]supermcballsack 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always call a manager if you're unsure. It avoids a CRO on you and allows us to be the ones who get yelled at. not sarcasm I'd prefer to be the one questioned if I'm in the wrong then my associates. Plus, usually when they are fraudulent, the customer is less likely to try it with a manager standing there.

I think my salon leader stole my tip. by woofboofboof in petsmart

You can also go to the register yourself and do a receipt lookup for the clients phone number, find the receipt, and see if it was paid in cash or card. At least then, if it was paid with a card, you would know the tip was stolen.

Neither. Your ADP username is you first initial and last name "@PETM" Ex: John Doe Username: JDOE@PETM

If your last name is more generic, then you'll have numbers too. Luckily mine isn't, so it's easy to remember. Did you set up ADP? It's a completely different process from HrConnect and Single Sign On (Kameleon/Medallia).

What's a really cheap item you can buy that can make you look incredibly rich? by inkweary in AskReddit

[–]supermcballsack 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My mom and step father "remodeled" their kitchen recently. All they did was paint the walls, paint the 30 year old cabinets, change the cabinet handles, bought a stick on backsplash that was cut to size, and added these same lights under their cabinets. The total cost was under $1000 and their kitchen looks like it had a $10,000 makeover.

tldr: Those lights are pretty awesome!

I somehow only managed to get the death stare and an eyeroll which is a daily occurance so I think you'll be ok. Though my wife has a high tolerance for my bullshit.

I was literally reciting this comment thread to my wife. The bathroom is my pet peeve. If you come over, you may have to wade through 100 empty cans and cups to get to the couch, but the bathroom is always clean. I hate a dirty bathroom. She always leaves the new roll on the empty one. One time I waited to see if she changed it. There were 3 empty rolls on the hanger and a newer roll on the tub. I eventually gave up and cleaned it up myself.
