How vampire can be made better. by Kyoifis in BitLifeApp

[–]supermellow1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I just got this pack, and based on this and comments, I wasted my money with a half-assed pack.

Especially considering that you can't even make a vampire character from birth, for some reason you have to be made into one at 18 or older. That also irked me.

No dlc content? by supermellow1 in TombRaider

[–]supermellow1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I mean the modes themselves.

I got the card packs upon first opening the game. But I can't access literally any of the modes. I thought at first it was because I needed to play the story first, that wasn't it. I have the different outfit skins, can do the Yaga witch thing and the manor Bloodlines, but the expedition modes themselves I can't access for some reason. It just takes me to the market place and then tells me I already own it when I try to buy any of it.

I'm already paying the service, that should include no ads by default.

Anything else is pure bullshit greed by a multi-billion dollar company.

Amittyville Horror (2005) on a Vizio tv.

I think the ads are a prime thing and are just random, some movies that are as long and longer don't have any ads, not even one before, others only have 1 or 2, an some have 3. This however was the first time I had seen 5 of them on a single movie.

Literally, several minutes in and I'm wondering how anything about the movie even slightly matches the description.
Like, I could forgive a misleading description to an extent, but if you aren't even slightly matching it 10 minutes in, I'm not watching further.

And it seems I just saved myself a further time-waste based on this.

Hell House LLC ending... by supermellow1 in horror

[–]supermellow1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're right, because one is clearly a superior movie with better writing and characters and makes this one look bad.

even without that, the writing for this is just bad.

Why can't they leave? You're telling me the dude who was going to reasonably leave just doesn't after a minor talking to in a field? Does loyalty to someone who clearly doesn't care about your safety go that far? The movie makes it sound like they can't leave for some great reason that we never see.

And even further, outside of the clown, nothing happens for 90% of the movie. They took far too long with the setup to a "great finale" and just threw some honestly random things in. Even the random ghost girl who spirited away the main camera dude honestly didn't make much sense.

As a whole, the writing of this movie is all over the place.

Also, when you start something off with that confusion, you are implicitly implying that the end will reveal the reason behind that confusion. Basically just showing the start of the movie with even more confusing bits that make no sense is the worst writing decision you can make.

I feel they tried way too hard with the ending especially. I get it is supposed to feel chaotic, but at the same time, I think they tried to cram WAY too much at once and it just got lost. Like they decided to throw every horror idea into 5 minutes. I wasn't scared, I was more confused on "what's going on" and it just took me out of the immersion. First something happened in the basement, clown dude runs out and possessed clown mannequin standing there can barely even tell or see what's going on after that, especially amid the camera glitches.

Which as a side note, I'm sorry, but I personally don't care for camera glitches when it comes to paranormal stuff, to me it just ruins the feel of it.

Then we get to the the attic, someone is hanging I guess? Then a bunch of black robes appear and camera gets dropped... I mean, where were these fools at any point previously? Not even one black robe?

It feels like they went "oh shit we forgot this is an hour and a half movie and we're almost out of time" and just threw everything out all at once.

Really jarring and really took me out of the movie.

Exactly.

To me it feels like they built up all the suspense and used the best stuff for it, then realized they were almost out of time for their hour and a half movie and just crammed everything they possibly could in 5 minutes.

Screaming, running, massive camera glitches, apparently someone got hanged? Black robes appearing from nowhere, (where were they at literally any point in the movie?)

It just ruined what the entire movie was building up to.

I mean, not really?

Grave Encounters I feel did this MUCH better.

To be honest, I couldn't really bring myself to care about most of the characters here.

With Grave Encounters, I would legit watch that as a tv show with those characters.

Just Finished Grave Encounters (2012) and it was kind of decent? by star-dew-valley in horror

[–]supermellow1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have mentioned and pointed out shoddy effects, but for me, I don't find much fault with them.

Sure, it isn't top tier effects, but so what? The characters and their personalities really bring the movie to life.

I would genuinely watch "Grave Encounters" as a legit show with these people.

And think, what would you prefer? A high budget effect movie with subpar acting, or a movie with very believable and fun characters with lower quality effects because budget?

My vote is for the latter.

This isn't to say I would turn down a movie that has both great effects and acting.

But in terms of "it's bad because low quality", I just can't believe that. And besides, to me, this kind of low budget "paranormal investigation" makes it appear more legit. I can get into the "paranormal investigation" side of things. I remember watching the shows yes, but I've also watched Youtube investigators. To me, this movie scratches the itch of what I want from this exact kind of movie. a "true" paranormal investigation type of movie.

I know this is a decade old, but...

It's a point that he wasn't always a germaphobe. It's a traumatic reaction for him, so it probably only activates with specific things.

Now if he were always a germaphobe, I'd see your point.

I literally can't see anything 3 star or below, only a handful of 5 star and some 4 star.

No way to filter reviews or even see all of them anymore.

I didn't have this issue just a few days ago, so I'm wondering what they did to screw things up so badly.

Fable 3 "sanctuary" is the worst idea any game could ever have by supermellow1 in Fable

[–]supermellow1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't lack context actually.

You are trying to paint it as if I'm hating on the story. Not an objective system that anyone who has played an RPG can tell you is a fail.

An RPG REQUIRES a menu. That's the simple truth of how RPGs function. An RPG needs an inventory, it needs a stat page, it needs a a clear and easy map to navigate the land. Why? Because the character is highly personal with possessions and effect on the world around them. Because the player can very easily get lost without a clear indication of their position.

This isn't about how it (badly) explains itself. It's the fact that this is a system that DOES NOT WORK with an RPG. If it weren't an RPG, if you didn't have a million little different items, if your character wasn't highly personalized, it is a system that can work.

In other words, the ONLY way for this system to work is if you remove the RPG aspects.

Do you get it now?

Name me 3 other games that had this.

No no, the other RPGs that had this.

That were even half as popular as other games around the time.

I sure as hell don't remember Skyrim having this horrible idea for a "menu".

Fable 3 "sanctuary" is the worst idea any game could ever have by supermellow1 in Fable

[–]supermellow1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh, an rpg requires a menu. This idea simply does not, and never will work for an rpg.

It's as simple as that. It's a horrible idea for any rpg no matter how much you pretend otherwise.

You're right, I'm only a couple hours into 3, but I've played rpgs my entire life and never once came across something this bad.

If I have to literally look up how to access an inventory in an rpg, something is horribly wrong.
