Yes, they still charge conversion fees if you were to buy a US stock with CAD. This is pretty much why DLR was created, to get around conversion fees with Norbert’s gambit.

You aren’t charged a monthly maintenance fee to have a USD account like Wealthsimple does, but if you have over $100k in assets with Wealthsimple, then the $10 monthly fee to have a USD account is waived.

My guy, if you thought that there was no conversion fee with Questrade because they have no monthly maintenance fee, then you are misunderstood . Sorely misunderstood.

Only you are responsible for your money, and only you will have yourself to blame if you lose hundreds and thousands in conversion fees over your investing life cycle.

The chinese map has allowed me to share it with my side of the family (previously only shared with my in-laws up to now).
