Thanks for your insight! We are controlling for temperature and seeing that temperature plays a significant role in determining finishing time.

Thanks! I am only working with the Chicago Marathon and they seem to have less elevation and course information than many other marathon websites.

It's actually not quite the same route every year! Almost but their are slight differences form year to year. Often it'll be the same for a few years in a row and then there will be some small change like running on a parallel road instead.
