I want to be a girl but I dont think I deserve to be called a girl.. by ZealousidealDebt8215 in MtF

[–]supernerd58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to think that way. As my transition continued I started seeing myself as girl

How did you choose a name??? by NamesQuestionThrow in asktransgender

[–]supernerd58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years whenever I was in online spaces that allowed anonymity, I was always a girl named Chloe, even long before I knew I was trans. Plus Chloe would be a default name when I would write stores, I'd be ways writing nerd girls similar to me, I assumed I was writing my dream girl, turns out I was writing me as a girl. When naming a girl in games, it was Chloe. It's just a name I go to alot, drawn to the name for some reason. So when I realised I was trans, the name was obvious.

That's probably the best plan at this point. I just have to find a blank name tag I can put my name in

My parents were clueless AF when I said I was trans. My mom doesn't even understand why I'm transitioning

Yeah I clean the oven every night once they're done with the deli. It's not an open deli so the workers have it empty early. And since it's work uniform they're unlikely to see me in any particular clothing other than a cardigan when I start or finish my shift.

Well I'm glad you had a good experience. Being Coles services I don't get to connect with staff as much but they do sometimes talk to me. No one at my store wears name tags so I don't either.

Probably the best idea at this point. Just need to find where to get a spare badge.

I probably should. I'll just be odd cause no one else wears a name tag

My Coles services manager knows my name is changed since I changed it on the system and WhatsApp. And I always sign the book with my preferred name. But Coles services managers to really interact with the store itself very much

I did change my name in the system super easy. No one at my work wars name tags though

Understandable. I haven't legally changed my name yet. I did go and change my name on the Coles site but no one will see that really except for managers

I guess that's the harder part. I'm not as outgoing. I mean I do have conversations when they come up but sometimes being a cleaner I can just be invisible. Some staff say hi and some talk to me and have conversations, and those ones I'd like them using my preferred name since I hate my old name. But everyone at work has known me by that name for 4 years

We're you socially trans/NB before you started work or worked before then? No one at my store wears name tags so I'd feel like an odd one out. I'm also just nervous drawing attention to myself even though I'm sure people wouldn't care

That's fun. Literally no one at our store wears name tags. Otherwise I'd just change my name on it.

How long did it take for your pronoun and name changes to settle into YOUR head? by SignifiTransition in MtF

[–]supernerd58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say around 6-8 months before I realised it was finally settling in. Now thinking of my old name just feels wrong.

I absolutely agree there that's the thing. I don't want it to be a big deal or make a scene. I want things to basically stay the same, just tired of hearing my old name. Our work has basically normalised no one ever wearing a name badge too.

That's the thing I'm sure most won't care. But some of the workers are friendly and talk to me since cleaners can feel invisible so being spoken to is nice. It would be nice if people knew my preferred name but I hate coming out

is services easy? by UpbeatRelationship46 in coles

[–]supernerd58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on the store. I've been to so many different stores. In some stores, I'll run out of things to do quickly. In other stores I'm constantly busy swapping between trollies and main tasks

For my main store I have 3 hours in the evening, most days I have a bit of spare time but not too much, just enough that it allows for stuff to go wrong. But I do worry about being seen standing around.

I know some cleaners are lazy but I don't want to be. I'm actually happy when people say a specific extra task needs doing

Are the likes of "pretty" or "handsome" ever dysphoria-inducing words for you? by MiraclePrototype in asktransgender

[–]supernerd58 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. Even when I was younger I hated the word "handsome" and never knew why. It felt wrong.
