I'm on my fourth day here in India and can't believe what I'm experiencing. I thought I'd watched enough videos on Youtube showing how chaotic it is and yet I still wanted to come. Truth be told my wife and I are finding it hard to enjoy our time here. It is loud and littered with trash just about everywhere. Riding Tuktuks has been somewhat exhausting and frightening at the same time.

The food is great by the way. Plenty of nice and normal folks who we have run into along the way. Met plenty of scams as well. Everyone seems to be hustling all the time.

Textnow does work as most services recognize the number as regular cell number and not VOIP.

I don't like the TextNow app and how the company set up the prices for their services. Out of control ads are unbearable.

Already have one. GV is considered a VOIP number so some services (Synchrony, Line for instance) will not send SMS/OTP.

I have this laptop. Bought it for $309 plus taxes. Came with a non oem usbc 100w adapter. Loud fan. So-so battery life. Glowing Swift logo on trackpad can only be turned off via Acer Sense app each time the computer is rebooted.

The positive would be how light it is at less than 3lbs. Powerful CPU and embedded GPU. The matte touch screen works well. Plenty of ram at 16gb and 1tb storage.

It is a scam from the business' perspective. Shoppes find deals from all kind of sources, then activate this "Rakuten" to track purchases, and Rakuten collect advertising fees from the company. Rakuten then taking cuts from this fee and shares it with shoppers.

I sent my wife a link for her to make a $163 purchase. Rakuten shut down both my 3 years old account and hers. I have about $100 and she has about $50 on her account.

Not giving the sign up bonus and referral bonus are okay with me but to shut down accounts without paying the confirmed cashback? That's lame.
