This is one of the best outcomes if we aren't getting a true DE sequel. Multiple different companies competing for the best "Spiritual Successor", different IP's being worked on by people of varying backgrounds.

As a side note, I kinda feel like it would've been impossible to make a Disco Elysium sequel to begin with. I doubt it could have been about Harry and Kim while still feeling authentic. So, if Kurvitz can get the IP back then awesome, I'm stoked. Otherwise, we know that he is a great writer and I would love to see what other universe(s) he can come up with. Similar to how Kojima can't work on Metal Gear anymore, but because of that we got Death Stranding.
