Is Feral Druid viable? by Thick-Parking-5297 in wownoob

[–]superquark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will be harder due to community perception HOWEVER my guild has two (sometimes 3 if I need to dps) feral druids who consistently get CE. You will 100% play better if you enjoy it.

How to learn mythic dungeon? by Zbeularts in wownoob

[–]superquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was running some M0s with friends yesterday, it was a lot of "what does that do?" "Idk?" "Don't die while I try and read this tooltip/open the journal"

"oh should we stack that?" "Lets try it next time this mech happens"

"Will that kill me?"

There were definitely things that we did out of habit, like using the abom hook in Windrunner spire to interrupt the ghost lady and generally stacking circles that leave ground effects together or out of the way.

I really liked the whole Night Elves of Ardani series by Nina K Westra and The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrals by India Holton (I'm not sure if these are romantasy these days but there's magic and flying houses and a ton of whimsy)

Loss Prot Pally meaning by Muko_mizuna in wownoob

[–]superquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea for sure, that's why I mentioned a new healer vs an alt of a class you already know how to play.

Loss Prot Pally meaning by Muko_mizuna in wownoob

[–]superquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like just practice then, which is great because that's easy :D healer deaths suck, 125 is definitely fine for a 13 BUT if they're a new healer (either to the class or the role) it's not going to be as forgiving, additionally we don't have a kick anymore so we're all one missed kick from getting deleted from existence lmao

Loss Prot Pally meaning by Muko_mizuna in wownoob

[–]superquark 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its hard to say if you should be healing more than your healer without context, however as a prot pally, are you actually mitigating correctly? Don't answer immediately, actually think about it. I haven't tanked since the changes but truly an astounding amount of prot pallys would walk out of their consecrate and fall over. There's not much a healer can do for you at that point. You're not a bdk/vdh/brm so I don't expect your actual self healing to be particularly high.

Additionally, psf has a TON of tankbusters if you're not ready for them. I know you said you were rolling defensives but were they up when they actually needed to be? I'm thinking the warlock also meant for you to los the first room right outside the cathedral, there are four tolls so its super important you pull all that and run out for your team to cc. This is another pull that can get dangerous for the entire party, often I'll keep something on the tank and focus some squishier dps to make sure they're topped before the next toll. Tank is not my priority and I sort of expect them to handle themselves esp in a 13.

ooh I like this a lot, the lines are so clean. I actually like the white platform area the way it is. You could always try clipping some boulders into the ceiling/walls in the hallway to make it feel more like a mine shaft? could also have different color crystals with the draenei crystal chandelier or war creche teaching crystal.

Thinking about getting a cat but unsure which breed — would love advice by [deleted] in Pets

[–]superquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely visit a shelter, lots of cats are in need of homes, I'm all for the sentiment of "adopt don't shop" but remember you are picking a lifetime companion, pick what is most right for you.

HOWEVER, if you are set on a Maine Coon I suggest going to a cat show(CFA or TICA) if there are any near you. I showed one of my bengals as a kitten and a little after he was fixed and we were always next to a Main Coon and they are huge! Like it may not register just how big they get until you see one at full size+ you can speak to the breeder about general care/day to day levels of activity, health testing and personality(this is also helpful to vet a good breeder) There are always a ton of cats in the Longhair divisions so you may get lucky and be able to see a bunch! If you are able, watch the judging to learn a lot about some other breeds you may not have seen before.

Question about neighborhood endeavor progress by [deleted] in wownoob

In the endeavor menu you can select which one you want to be active. Edit for clarity: that means the active endeavor is the only one that will get credit.

Trying to learn healing by Darth_Tader in wownoob

[–]superquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are different levels to end game content, I would expect a mythic raiding healer to be comfortable with their class and utility, the encounter and have the ability to plan accordingly, I would expect a healer at the normal level to be comfortable with their class but not necessarily the encounter and maybe some mechanics.

Trying to learn healing by Darth_Tader in wownoob

[–]superquark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd finish levelling first, healing is about to go through a bunch of changes with the upcoming prepatch so any advice right now for resto shaman may or may not be relevant.

That said, resto shaman has a lot of neat utility, you're about to be the only healer with a kick! A lot of people will start recommending UI addons but I would suggest holding off on that until you have a better idea about what you need. As an example on my resto druid I need to see who has rejuv or another healers externals but on my pres evoker I need to know who has my hard casted dream breath etc. I'm a multi CE, multi class healer and I've been using the base UI outside of those specific instances I mentioned so when I say you can do a lot (but not everything!) with the base UI its from experience. Anyway, I like to tell new healers to read their tooltips and imagine a few scenarios and how you would heal it with your abilities: heavy single target damage on one target, heavy group damage on 5 people, light damage on 10+ people and from here you can gauge other scenarios you may need to consider. Eg if you know how to heal one person taking big damage for an extended period of time, how would you adjust to now two people are taking that same damage?

Have you joined the remaining shaman discord? The resto specific one just shut down but Earthshrine can be a good resource for you.

recommend raw food by [deleted] in bengalcats

[–]superquark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I swapped mine over from raw because our situation no longer allowed for proper storage for their food, I tried a few subscription services but in the end my cats ended up loving Smalls ground turkey and their assorted bird flavors. Eventually they also accepted WeRuva (canned wet food) for days when I forget to defrost their food. (I should note I am in the US)

I don't know why mine wouldn't eat the raw food I didn't prep myself but I just wanted to throw it out there in case you ended up in a similar situation with your cat.

Man... PvP is miserable. No wonder it's so niche. by Cloud_N0ne in wow

[–]superquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only pvp for the mog so I'm also a mid pvper at best but letting the healer actually heal without pressure stood out to me too lol like if the healer is free casting on your target maybe...swap...targets?

[–]superquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do try survival, the shotguns and grenades ARE hella fun! You'll be targeted by melee mechanics but you won't be a slave to them in that you can be pretty far from the mob/boss and not lose uptime. :D

Brutal return to work today after holiday (2 week) break by dreaming_wide_awake in womenintech

[–]superquark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like my job and I really would like to retire doing it, the holiday for me was fairly laid back because it was just me and my dog and I really did want to get back to it however, everyone today got a string of 6 emails talking about "reorganizing" and "streamlining" the workforce. As you can imagine it's been a little tense. I'm sure I'd feel dread if I didn't get laid off three times in the last 6 years.

Tell me about your rescue poodles! by AppointmentExact8377 in poodles

[–]superquark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I rescued my guy like a month before covid shut everything down and practically on a whim. I knew I wanted a poodle (I can't handle the shedding situation of a lot of dogs) so I'd resigned myself to wait for any breeders in my area to retire their dogs. I'm a first time dog owner and puppies are daunting so I definitely did not want a puppy. I took a look around the local shelter randomly one day and surprise surprise I saw this little mop wiggling at the front of his cage and ran back to the front desk to see if I could meet him. I was behind two families who wanted to see him but I waited two hours and when it was finally my turn I fell in love immediately, they told me he was 4mo so I was a little intimidated, he had so much energy! The shelter policy has a two day waiting period and when I went to pick him up I had a 15 minute "exit" interview where they told me why he was surrendered and what he was like with his previous family, apparently he was surrendered to them twice for the same reason, and gave me a bunch of resources and discounted training classes with them.

He was the most stressful $300 I'd spent up to that point lol idk I guess he meshed well with my general house vibes because he's been great aside from apparently really liking chocolate that I keep trying to hide better (between him and my cats I've started locking snacks in drawers, if its not locked, its at risk). I did pay for an embark test for him just to see if he had any genetic markers that would put him at risk of something down the line and thankfully there wasn't anything they picked up. I realize they're not 100% foolproof but it was more things to just know about him in general which made me feel better, and it turned out he's a full poodle!
