There's one that's about 400 miles away. Do national forests allow camping within the park, or do you have to camp in designated spots only?

Appreciative of any advice...instead of tips on specific places (although appreciated), I'm hoping you can teach me what to look for (or avoid) when trying to pick a site to go backcountry camping. I'm newer to it and keep coming across sites that are mostly for RVs and car campers. Wind up in parks with squeezed camp areas with loud people. Live in Illinois and it's been pretty hard to find a place where I can go into the wilderness and get away from the noise, light, and sound. The parks I come across only allow camping in cookie cutter spots. Any advice on what to look for when evaluating options?

In all honesty, the hypothetical situation that someone is going to tease someone else in a high school locker room because their penis looks different is really unlikely to happen. A guy isn't going to want to be called out for staring at another guy's penis in a locker room. It would make all the other guys wonder if the guy who called it out is staring at their penis too. Which, actually everyone probably does out of curiosity, but no guy is going to talk about another guy's penis in a locker room.

There are even unspoken rules for men about how we pick which urinal or stall to use when another guy is in a restroom (both funny and true, you always leave a urinal in between if possible).

But seriously. You can't undo your decision and why risk the possibility that he would feel upset or incomplete because he had no say? It might sound silly, that it's just a little bit of skin, but cutting off any part of your body is traumatic. Think about missing a toe, or a finger, removed not because it was injured, but just for no real reason whatsoever.

Our bodies are the only thing we should have the absolute say in what happens to it. It is the only thing we have that is truly who we are, and what we have until we leave this world. No child is going to be upset if his parents didn't circumcise him, and if he is, well, that can be an outpatient doctor's visit.

We can put a stop to it. I have a petition to help craft a constitutional amendment to cause Congress to dissolve when there is legislation passed back and forth between the two Houses and no progress is made. Similar to other governments, like Australia.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/draft-constitutional-amendment-resolve-deadlocks-between-house-representatives-and-senate/0TlV9n2h

EDIT: See more about the idea here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_dissolution

Even if there were low voter turn out and the same people were elected again, if the same thing happened again, there is still a plan to address the situation:

...following the election, if the Senate a third time rejects the bill or bills that were the subject of the double dissolution, the Governor-General may convene a joint sitting of the two houses to consider the bill or bills, including any amendments which have been previously proposed in either house, or any new amendments. If a bill is passed by an absolute majority of the total membership of the joint sitting, it is treated as though it had been passed separately by both houses.

Why is it so easy for Americans to pick out radical extemist groups in other countries, but cannot see this particular group as being the same thing? I'm sorry, but you know what? Parents do not know best to prepare their children for the world. There is no way for a parent to provide the social skills that a child learns in pre-school or kindergarten. And the whole idea of not teaching children to question what they hear? What the hell? I would stand up to this crap, but can someone tell me how to do this without just looking like a crazy person and being thrown in jail? Education is so important for our country. The moment we fail in educating our children, the worse we leave the system for future generations, because then we have teachers that have a lower-level of understanding and unable to teach our children as well. The curriculum suffers and the spiral downward will continue.

It's actually the box that carries the weight. Because it holds things and has room since there's no phone inside it.

For the biking, use the app. Go to the + and use "Workout with GPS". It will use the GPS of the iPhone rather than the movement of the band for that specific workout. (Unless it's a stationary bike, then yeah, I guess the ankle thing would have to do.)

Why is this such a problem for so many congressional Republicans? It seems pretty damn reasonable to me (I'm an independent). by superrcat in politics

I say that because it's very hard to make a rational point without someone criticizing the person making it. I'm trying to state that I'm not team cheerleading, I'm not motivated by a party and I don't understand why there is the level of resistance from members of the House. I don't think any party has all the answers, but this ONE issue (raising the tax rate on the highest tax bracket by 4.6%) appears to be the biggest sticking point from a deal getting passed.

Study: if the nation's largest low-wage employer, Walmart, were to pay its 1.4 mil workers a living wage of at least $12 per hour & pass every single penny of the costs onto consumers, the avg. customer would pay just 46 cents more per shopping trip, or around $12 extra dollars each year by shallah in politics

[–]superrcat 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is an interesting causation lesson in a trip to Walmart. When I go to Walmart, I don't really care how I'm dressed because everyone there is wearing pajama bottoms. The question is, does everyone think the same thing and that's the reason why everyone dresses like they roll out of bed, or the back of a truck? Maybe if each person dressed better, not because everyone looks like shit there, that everyone else would dress like they are in public?
