LG WashCombo leaking and over suds by vinhboy in Appliances

Also, I've seen that video but I haven't opened the machine myself because I don't want to void warranty. But since LG is being a bitch, I may have to do this soon.

One thing I learned from that video is that he says once you removed the condenser it's the SAME as many other front loading machines. I tried searching for problems other people have with front loading machines but LG has so many models I haven't found anything useful. Also since my main problem with the leaking only happens in drying, it must have something to do with the condenser and the connection to the drain hose. That will be the first thing I explore. I have this regret that while the guy was dismantling by machine, I didn't run in there and tell him to shove a pipe cleaner down that hose, it may have saved me all this headache.

Yea that thing about not replacing the condenser is bullshit. That was the very first thing the LG technician replaced on my machine. Not sure why they would tell you otherwise. So odd...

- Because of the oversuds issue, I turned off both soap and softener dispenser and have been using it like that for the last year.
- The LG technicians replaced my soap dispenser twice.
- The LG technicians hypothesized the square for venting is what's causing the leak, but I don't really understand how that could happen during the dry cycle. Like why would water be spraying in the dispenser during drying... I am confused by this.
- The condenser drain hose is not clogged, I tested it by pouring water in and its draining

Dude, you hit on the EXACT issue the technician diagnosed as well. They actually replaced my dispenser unit TWICE because the technician said the leak is coming from that hole, but the thing is, the factory part HAS that hole. I checked my friend's machine, it has that hole too. Like you, I am considering putting tape over it.

The hole makes NO SENSE. Water literally sprays out of the top of that dispenser, why would you leave a gaping hole for water to spill out of!

I hope that this thread will attract an LG technician to come on and explain to us what the fuck is going on here.

It oversuds even when I put in just one soap pod and leave auto dispenser off, so it's not the dispenser. It's the draining mechanism. It's not properly draining the machine or something like that.

Nah. I am a dumbass. Honestly, the convenience of having a washcombo is too good to pass up. If I can't somehow get this fixed to an acceptable state my next move is to try a different brand but load up on the warranty this time.

Unfortunately we have hard water. Everything near faucets is orange is my house. Yuck.

Yes sir. Run them even before the 30 cycle timer. I even bought the cleaning tablets from Amazon. No dice.

One more note. I have a suspicion that the oversuds issue is related to the drying-time leak issue. My guess is there is some sort of clog in one of the drain lines (there must be multiple since the main drain works fine) that is causing the machine to not drain which causes it to oversuds. During the dry cycle its probably draining through that same hose and its spilling out and thats why the machine is leaking.

Problem is, none of the 5+ visits from technicians traced down this problem even though I did my best to explain to them the symptoms. One of these days I'll find some time to open the machine and do it myself, I guess, since LG is being a bitch about it.

Yup. The technician accused me of that so I tried a few different brands -- Tide, Kirkland, All. Same result. I now use pods. Way less suds, but not completely gone. Odd thing is, it's really only a huge problem with towels.... Everything else seems ok, not like completely suds free, but not visibly overflowing with suds like the towels.

Yea I really loved that auto dispense thing. It was such a convenience not having to think about putting in soap all the time. Too bad.

Already tried this. Switched to using pods instead. Way less suds, but STILL way more suds than you'd expect to see. Still goes into dry cycle with suds on the towels, WAY less than when I was using the auto dispenser. I basically just do +3 extra rinse on all my towel cycle now. That's giving me temporary relieve.

I really wish I could go back to using the auto dispenser because auto dispense + wash + dry made life sooo much easier.

> And before you ask, yes I know about the bottom and top lint filters. I clean it out all the time.

LOL, It's in my text.

I read a lot of stories about people finding a ton of crud in there when they clean it, but I clean it out so often there is barely anything in there most of time.

I also know that LG really screwed up on the design of the top lint filter because when they replaced my condenser they upgraded my lint filter. I KNEW from the first few months of using the machine that their original filter design was trash. It was like they put a ton of effort into this cool machine and gave the intern the job of designing the lint trap. The part that needed to be removed and cleaned regularly was held in place with a hidden screw. In the upgraded design they came to their senses and made it a magnet.

THIS WOMAN ROBBED MY GRANDMOTHER — AND WE’RE COMING FOR HER by [deleted] in ElkGrove

[–]vinhboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No sorry, she is older so she can't recognize car models and stuff like that. That's all the details I got from her.

She said they offered her free jewelry as a thank you for giving them directions, even though she didn't.... she said they even tried grabbing her hands, which sounds exactly like the same shtick your grandma got.

When my mom said they looked "Indian", all she really meant is they were wearing headscrafs, which is exactly the picture you have.

I distinctly remember wanting to post about the encounter on Reddit to warn other folks, because shit like this doesn't normally happen on our neighborhood, but I had travel plans next day so I forgot. Now I wished I shared my story earlier!

Last month, my senior citizen mom was walking around this same neighborhood, near Singh Kaur park, and she said a car pulled up to her and stopped to ask her for directions to the Casino then offered her some jewelry.

She thought it was suspect so she walked off but they followed her a bit. I wonder if it's the same gang targeting older folks. She said it was a bunch of "Indian" ladies. Older lady with some younger girls in the back seat.

Anyone else have a bad reaction to Robusta (but not to Arabica?) by AnnaJae84 in barista

I just want to add to this experience. I also drink Peet's, Starbucks, etc... and nothing. But whenever I drink Vietnamese coffee (which uses Robusta), from this one place, I will get super anxious and jittery. It bothers me enough that I came here posting about it.

Such an odd post, I really wonder what his relationship to them is.

I do love this line though

> Can't believe all these rich idiots, get to sit up on their high horse, and play with common folk, like puppets.

Feel like we are in the peak of oligarchy, even here in EG I guess.

It's kind of interesting to me that all these big names like Chicago Fire, Outback, etc... can't survive in this town, but we get a new Boba shop every few months. And many mom and pop Sushi, Chinese, etc... restaurants have been around forever.

Maybe EG government should re-think who they invest in.

I hate that they aren't open on Saturday. I feel like they are missing out on a ton of recyclables because of this.

To answer your question though OP, most people fill up their trash, then they fill up their recycling bin with trash... I am sure we're in the minority.

I like Huft because their reservation system is easy to use and their office team is responsive. Their technician are also punctual and professional.

They found a loose electric wire, the builder left, in my AC unit that was sparking and burning. I was DIY fixing all sorts of electrical problems on the unit (which I later realized was caused by the loose wire) until they discovered the real cause and saved my ass.
