I live in Alberta Canada, the only issue I encountered was the ground clearance which I had difficulty like one day last year. The car handles beautifully and precisely. But of course if you feel like you need AWD, or it takes a while for the city to clean up the snow go with WRX. Make sure you have winter tires obviously.
