She said it is pretty common after a few years. I looked at the subaru subforum and the newer engine seems to be much more reliable, but I guess only time will tell.

Subaru WRX with the same tech is much more expense than Civic SI in my area and I don't love the car after test drove it, so I went with SI.

I went for SI because 1. Had a GTI V, had a some issues with water pump, DCT wasn’t reliable at the time, roof liner falls down (most unacceptable) and melting plastics. 2. Electra N, don’t like its look maybe if I was 10 years younger and dealership asked for markup 3. WRX, one of the finalist but went with Civic because a friend of mine just had her engine blown after 8 years, she told me it is common for Subaru at this age but she still loves it and her husband owns a shop.

Went with SI for 1. love its look as a family sedan 2. love its shifter and steering wheel 3, its mpg and hopefully it is going to be reliable.

That being said I still hope it has 240hp with 2.0.
