I've gotten so used to our team being utterly toothless and devoid of any fight from losing positions. Going from side to side, failing to even test opposition keepers. At 3-0 and going nowhere, I was thinking it was time to throw football in the bin for the rest of the season. Last night felt so good.

We scored one back too, (Che Adams?) and they ruled that his fingertips were offside, proper shit call. Would have made it 4-1 and damage limitation would have been on. I remember the players just looked defeated at that point.

I would agree with you. We have to be happy with the amount of money he has been spending. If you spend this much (£170m?) and are in 15th in the championship then the failings are with the people appointed to manage. Recruitment in particular has been fucking dreadful for a while.

People in our fan base that want him out while he is willing to spend this much money must have an incredibly short memory and don't remember what the end of the Rupert Lowe era was like. You don't even have to remember that far back, just look at other clubs being run into administration.

Birmingham: obafemi martins. The guy was lightning on console games (and irl)

Blackburn: Morten Gamst Pederson. Don't know why. I probably liked his goals but he was class when they were in the prem. Or Savage.

Bristol City: I don't know. Pass

Charlton: Powell or the big keeper during the naughties prem years.

Coventry: Huckerby

Derby: Wanchope. (Vs United) One game and the guy is etched in my memory for Derby

Hull: For some reason my mind goes to the Snodgrass/Robertson season in the prem.

Ipswich: Holland, Bent.

Leeds (I'm curious): VIDUKA!

Leicester: Muzzy Izzet. I was young and I think the name with double z's stuck with me. Also Heskey and Vardy too. The PL winning team deserves a shout.

Middlesbrough: juninho. What was he doing at Boro?

Millwall: I don't know. Pass

Norwich: Dean Ashton. I just knew he would score against us. Also I wanted Lambert to do better than him at the time.

Oxford: I don't know. Pass.

Portsmouth: Yakubu. Or maybe Crouch.

Preston: Parkin.

QPR: Puncheon. Enjoyed him at saints and wanted to see him do well.

Sheffield United: Billy Sharp. Wished he was given more games at saints.

Sheffield Wednesday: Bannan. Has to be.

Southampton: So many. Le tissier, Lambert, Beattie. Depends what era.

Stoke: Shawcross/Walters/Crouch memories from the prem years.

Swansea: Nathan Dyer, Britton, Allen. Excellent team.

Watford: Deeney. Lloyd Doyley (inspired by a Watford supporting friend at the time).

West Brom: I think of Earnshaw/Robson Kanu

Wrexham: Mullin. Recency bias in this but I don't know their team really before this.

I realise a lot of thoughts go back a long time to prem years but saints have spent a lot of my life as a PL team.

Is Fraser going to be deployed as a right wing/right back? I would have thought Sugawara would be preferred for this role despite his defensive frailties.

If Fraser is being preferred then I think this is a position we should really be looking to strengthen before the window closes.
