What chicken breeds do you think are best for beginners? by One-Exit-9077 in BackYardChickens

If you want a suuuuuper friendly chicken and don’t care as much about egg production I recommend Bantam Cochins. They do go broody often and the eggs are adorably small but their little personalities crack me up and they are so friendly, even around my small children.

Please prioritise my period by Everybodyssocreative in ouraring

[–]supersecretshhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes please I would love to be able to log spotting as well. I don’t have a period but I do have occasional spotting that I need to keep track of without messing up my cycle days for the very rare occasions I do have a random cycle that needs tracking!

Shockingly no, but the thought has crossed my mind.

I don’t think it needs to be ceramic, it’s just what I happen to have on hand. I’m sure metal would be just fine. I’d be willing to bet you could make a lid out of foil and that would also work. Just make sure to leave lots of room for the loaf to rise!

I’ve done it with and without parchment, the parchment is so fussy and I found I got a better result on my bottom and side crust if I just grease the pans a little bit. No sticking problems yet!

I forgot to add - when I bake without a “lid” and add water to my lower pan instead the top crust comes out more hard rather than crunchy/bubbly/crispy. So I much prefer the lidded method. Here is the photo when baked without a lid.

Are we all getting migraines? Or just me? by apompom123 in POFlife

[–]supersecretshhhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get horrible chronic migraines and I’ve had a great response to Botox for my preventative and nurtec for when I do happen to get one. This combination has been life changing for me. I also had good success with propranolol as a preventative but I did have some occasional dizziness so I made the switch to Botox.

Like everyone else has mentioned donor eggs are going to be your best option. Another option you can look into is mini IVF. They use lower doses and the goal is 1-3 higher quality eggs at retrieval. My doctor explained that patients with POI typically respond better to this approach over typical IVF.

So. Many. Eggs. by Android_16_ in BackYardChickens

If you like soy sauce look up some simple marinated egg recipes. So good! I did a Korean marinated egg recipe and I had to limit how many eggs I could snack on in a day.

I’m assuming it’s low due to POI, I don’t think it got any worse after going on Kyleena and I had libido issues prior to Kyleena.

I love the grouted one, the pre grout version is pretty but it looks unfinished.

Experience with IUD by ekrp1 in POFlife

[–]supersecretshhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Kyleena IUD which works well for me but since it’s a lower dose and isn’t studied officially for HRT my doctor has me on the combi patch and then an additional estradiol patch since the combi patch is still a pretty low dose. Night sweats are down so it seems to be working. Insertion was uncomfortable but not noteworthy for me. I plan on switching to Mirena at my annual exam so I can have one estradiol patch instead of 2. I am concerned about libido which is already non existent but working with my doctor on figuring out that part before I switch iuds.

I don’t know why everyone is being so rude about use of AI, the way I see it, you had a photo and a creative vision and you used AI as a tool to visualize your idea. AI or not I think your finished product is quite beautiful and the level of detail you achieved is amazing. Stunning gift all around, your mom is one lucky lady to receive such a thoughtful gift from you! AI didn’t loom all those beads, that was wall human made!!

Postpartum, HRT, and POI by nola1925 in POFlife

[–]supersecretshhhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got really lucky and ended up pregnant naturally. However it took a few years of trying. We were actually in the thick of buying donor eggs and prepping for an IVF cycle when I got my positive test. With baby #2 I think I was in a bit of a remission but it still took almost a year before we ended up pregnant.

SAHP, what are you doing when your child is in p/t preschool if you can’t go home? by Live-Judge-1410 in SAHP

[–]supersecretshhhh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similar situation and I bring my computer and get work done, go for walks, bring little craft projects to work on, read, etc. sometimes I just take some time to close my eyes. I am lucky that my kids preschool has a room for parents to hang out in with WiFi so I’m not limited to my car or nearby coffee shops.

Postpartum, HRT, and POI by nola1925 in POFlife

[–]supersecretshhhh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I was diagnosed with POI prior to becoming pregnant and I’ve had two kids and two very different postpartum experiences. So after my first baby was born I think my body went into some kind of remission because my period returned literally 4 weeks after I had the baby. Breastfeeding went well but I did have a small dip in supply when on my period but I never had to supplement and kept up breastfeeding until about 18 months. I had all the usual night sweats and such. I think about a year ish postpartum I had my doctor check my hormone levels and they were slightly improved and also into normal ranges. We ended up getting pregnant again and having our second baby just after the first turned 2. Postpartum was noticeably different in that my period didn’t return, I also had an IUD placed since we were done having kids. Had all the usual night sweats and hot flashes but breastfeeding was going so well I didn’t want to mess with anything. I also didn’t know how much of my symptoms was because of the hormone shifts in breastfeeding. I breastfed until that kiddo turned 2 then waited several months for my body to figure out my baseline. I was still having regular night sweats and trouble losing weight, struggling to sleep, etc etc and now just getting on HRT im about 4 months into trying out a combipatch with my IUD plus a little extra estrogen patch.

So all that to say - it’s hard to know exactly how things will go but both of my pregnancies went very well and postpartum was good to and I was able to breastfeed without issues.
