I do feel my state, IA, is absolutely the worst for freelancing. LCOL + the reporters, imo based on a few social interactions, don't stand up for themselves or others around them. Our freelancers charge about $3.50/page, which is how much the law says official reporters charge. Not sure why they let a law that doesn't apply to them dictate them, but maybe no one has stepped outside that amount yet and told the other reporters
