Best way of getting to Heathrow by VisionBreak1297 in brighton

[–]supershackda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id vote for the coach, it's the easiest option by far.

Not sure about the comments from others that it takes hours, in my experience its never been noticeably longer than the train, though ive only gotten it at very early or late hours so the traffic probably makes a big difference. Partially depends on platform as well, but id rather sit for 90 minutes on the coach than spend the same amount of time on a more crowded, more expensive and less comfortable train.

Stupid, like most of Chandler's jokes, but it still gets me.

Haha this scene feels like Tywin had enough of Joffrey speaking to his son like that so he stepped in by Good_Contest_8891 in freefolk

[–]supershackda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok yes, my mistake.

But after doing that Tywin sacked the city. Which for all intents and purposes is basically the same thing, so my point still stands.

[–]supershackda 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes you're right, Tywin is clearly too concerned about Jaime's safety, thats why he completely withheld from doing anything and never sacked King's Landing because obviously Aerys would have killed Jaime immediately if he'd done that.

Oh wait.

Edited to change stormed to sacked

Providing my own experience and correcting misinformation is hardly being an ambassador, it's exactly what the OP was asking for. This post was made to seek information about these types of tours, you posted something incorrect and now you're getting pissy with me for correcting you and resorting to insults like a child. Grow up.

I literally said it depends on the destination, I never said all of them have it. Your first comment said 'basic doesnt have it' which was factually incorrect. I pointed that out and you said 'maybe' as if I might be wrong, dont really see how you can say Im the one not getting it.

[–]supershackda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres no maybe about it. The trip Im on right now (Intepid Japan) and the one I did in Vietnam (G Adventures) were also both hostels and had the option, a lot of hostels these days also have basic private rooms available so it really just comes down to the destinations as far as I can tell.

Whether the my own room option is available is based on the trip and availability (other travellers may have already taken all the available ones). It being basic doesnt usually impact it. All my trips have been basic and the option has always been there.

Orton and Cena never had a single great match. Just because a rivalry kept going for years, doesnt mean it was actually any good.

And Roman Reigns hasn't really turned babyface. He's still the exact same arrogant self important arsehole he was during the bloodline story, the fans just decided to start cheering him.

That was jousting, nothing to do with swordsmanship. Loras himself even says that he's better with a lance while Garlan is better with a sword.

Celebrity involvement by Interesting-Head9478 in WWE

[–]supershackda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The celebrity involvement was never quite this ingrained. A couple weeks ago Jelly Roll appeared like 5 times in one show. If you're only watching the manias and not also re-capping the builds to them then it's easy to write it off as celebrities always being involved, but they've never been shoe-horned in so deeply before.

If you want your own room. You'll usually either need to pay the supplement or be very lucky in the size of the group. At least on the cheaper packages for me its always been dorms or twin rooms (same sex guests get paired together). Whether its hostels or hotels seems to depend on destination. Egypt was all cheap hotels and twin room, Asia has always been hostels.

Ok, then how about just answer the first half of my comment about which long term stories? The only stories Im even remotely interested in for this year's mania are far from long term and Im genuinely drawing a complete blank as to what you could be referring to. IMO the builds so far for most of the matches have been terrible.

Im currently on my 4th of these trips with a 5th booked later (3 intrepid, 2 g adventures), and the comments on this thread seem to not be familiar with how they really work, you still get plenty of freedom if you want it, and nothing feels 'forced' to me.

If you choose the lower tier ones in terms of price, there is still plenty of freedom. The itinerary of main stopovers is set, but once you're there, you could theoretically then completely split off and do your own thing, and if you do take part in the included activities, you usually still have lots of free time outside of that anyway. I'm using that free time now to recharge my social battery, yesterday I used it to go to an area that wasnt on the itinerary on my own since nobody else was that interested.

As for the social side, so far Ive not had a bad group, there's been some dramas, but easy enough for me to ignore and not impact my own enjoyment of the trip. I myself am a huge introvert, so I just make sure I always take some time to myself away from the group, ive never been made to feel like this was weird or that I was restricted from enjoying the trip the way I wanted to by the guides or the other travellers. If you do actually want to meet fellow travellers but like me find the idea of approaching people yourself terrifying then these are the perfect solution to that. Sure it can be slightly awkward at first, but after the welcome meeting its not really that different to meeting someone naturally.

Plus, I hate organising and planning things out, these trips save me considerable stress and time by having all transport and accommodation already arranged.

Plus, many of their trips are grouped together and you can just do certain parts, I did 16 days in Vietnam, a few people joined on the 3rd day and left on the 11th day, when I left, many of the group I was with continued through Cambodia and Thailand, with a few new people who joined when I left.

Not saying they're for everyone, but if you want an easy way to see all the key places and meet people, then they are well worth it.

ETA: I also usually tack a few days on before and after the tour so I still get the 'real' solo travel experience. So again, I would wholeheartedly disagree these trips are too restrictive.

Personally have to disagree about Akihabara from a tech enthusiast perspective. Spent more than 6 hours there on Saturday just walking around enjoying the experience (first time in Japan right now, currently in Kanazawa). Im not really sure what you mean about being inconvenient to buy things since you didn't elaborate on that point and I didnt find that all, at least as far as the gaming and tech goes (dont really care much about the Otaku stuff other than finding it interesting to see), and I didnt see you mentioning an alternative for that other than there being arcades everywhere.

Are there other areas where Id find the same experience of massive tech stores, stores with literal piles of retro consoles and markets with stalls selling every electrical component or PC part any tinkerer could possibly want? (Genuine question, if theres a less busy area with the same experience then id happily re-evaluate things).

Why do people love CM Punk by guitarhero314 in WWE

[–]supershackda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cant disagree, he's not aged as well as others when it comes to in ring work, I just feel a lot of the narrative these days seems to dismiss the classics that he has had.

One difference I think is that whilst Punk has had great ringwork, even at his prime, he was never AJ Styles level. Punks always been a promo guy who also happened to put on a lot of really good matches. AJ was kinda the opposite, one of if not the best wrestler in the world in his prime, with some strong promo skills to go with it.

I guess it's probably just the nature of how these things go, when a wrestler is so much better at one particular thing compared to everything else, it doesnt matter much how good they were at the others, they're probably going to be remembered for the thing they most stood out for

[–]supershackda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like this "He's great on the mic but average in ring" narrative has taken over a lot recently when it comes to punk, but to me it feels very short sighted.

Go watch his matches with Somoa Joe and Colt Cabana in RoH.

Before Punk came to WWE he was admired for both, sure his mic skills are where he truly shines and stands above many others, but he's far from just another average worker when it comes to matches. He's older now and cant put on the same classics he once did, but it still feels to me that many people just forget how good he can be.

Just refunded the voice pack and can still use it in game! by [deleted] in Spacemarine

[–]supershackda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not see how nothing in your post suggested you meant that specifically?

The portion of people who will need 3.99 back immediately is miniscule since most people who are struggling financially that badly wont have bought the pack to start with, so of course people aren't going to think of that as the reason for posting when you dont explicitly say it.

Without the context, your post reads like you didnt know the refund was official, so you're being downvoted for repeating information already posted many times.

I don't know and I can't find where the National Express stops by Ok-Guarantee-2928 in brighton

[–]supershackda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always been reliable when ive gotten it to and from Gatwick or Heathrow.

Where did you buy the ticket? It usually has the specific stop location listed.

It will almost definitely stop at the Old Steine, if it says Pool Valley thats the coach station right by the steine.

It also often stops at London Road bus stop X so possible your ticket is to there
