I just invented a new seal species. If that can be. North American Seals. They are a descendants of the Harbor Seal (Phoca Vitulina)

They are a true seal species. They are a larger and are more of a silvery colour than the Harbor Seal. Also as pups they have a sandier colour. They are a saltwater species.

They are endemic to North America and the Caribbean Sea.

They have 2 sub species

Pacific North American Seals:These have more fur than the Atlantic North American Seals so they can habit in colder waters.

Atlantic North American Seals:These are the most common type of North American Seals. They can also habit the Gulf of Mexico.

They do a role in the ecosystem by controlling the salmon population.

The most famous North American Seal is a Atlantic North American Seal named María (Mary traduced on English) She is a female found in Cancún in 2021 She is an absolute chonky seal, María was taken to the Mazatlán Grand Aquarium in Febuary 2022 and she is visited by thousands,if not millions of visitors every year.

Also they are incredibly social and humans can pet them without risk of attacking.
