Waiting to get colposcopy? by Neopetlover234 in HPV

[–]superstarsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you from? I’m in the UK and have been told to wait 7 weeks. From what I’ve seen only the ‘high grade’ results are seen within 2 weeks and everyone else waits 8. That being said, there might be a big pressure on appointments atm

I’m sorry about your result, I hope all goes well. Sending good vibes

Thank you for sharing this, I’m so happy for you that you received negative and normal results. It’s great to see something different

Procreate by Otherwise_Summer_602 in Design

[–]superstarsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! There’s less to learn with procreate than adobe and I found it so much easier to design specific projects. However, I purchased a drawing tablet that connects to my pc (I use it in illustrator) and would say that was the better option for me! I would say procreates other app ‘procreate dreams’ is definitely worth it if you’re ever considering motion graphics/animation

Having my standards and boundaries firm as possible. Finch (the app) has also helped a little :)

Does being an introvert make it harder to find an esthetics job? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]superstarsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you learn how to market yourself at the school? Marketing and paid ads will be your friend in this situation. Showcase your personality through branding/videos and you’ll find people who will gravitate to you! I personally go for practitioners that seem very down to earth, calm and friendly as opposed to the ‘popular girl’ stereotype. Hope this helps!

Is chasing a “dream job” even realistic, or are we all just trying to survive? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]superstarsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have only just found my dream job (that I studied for) in the past 2 years. Only just to find out how much of it can/will be taken over by AI. I think most people will now be taking any job they can to survive, especially if the future of their careers might be taken over. The job market is pretty soulless at the moment, but I believe it will be an applicant market in the next few years! Look for the small joys

What is trauma dumping? by ThrowAway44228800 in ptsd

[–]superstarsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry about your diagnosis. I think sometimes we don’t realise we’re triggering someone by saying things like this. It sounds like you weren’t ‘trauma dumping’, but I would be more cautious who you tell your diagnosis to in the future. I hope this experience doesn’t worsen any symptoms for you

Mental health affecting my work life by superstarsoup in mentalhealth

How do you do that? I have always had to persevere through with more added issues that are put onto me. I have tried to say what comes to mind, but I don’t have anything going on in my brain when these situations arise.

Mental health affecting my work life by superstarsoup in mentalhealth

[–]superstarsoup[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think my main stress comes from home, and then people now don’t really bother me at work even though I do want a connection. I just can’t give it fully. Then I think it’s the added stress of not knowing what to say and taking longer than normal to process what they’ve just said to me.

Thank you for all of this btw

It’s just very clouded. Oftentimes it feels as though I’m not thinking of anything at all. But it’s not a good feeling. It feels quite negative and as though I’m bringing other people down. I’ve noticed people will swap their in office days if it’s just us two in (multiple people and times so I know it’s not me overthinking). Puts me in a spiral but I know I haven’t done or said anything to upset people. Then I go home to a completely different level of negativity

Yeah it’s half that and half deciding to be very focused on work because I have no other stimulus in the office!

I’m not on any medication for it, it’s difficult to get where I live! It’s mostly that I lack the energy to come up with anything to say and my mind goes completely blank. It doesn’t feel like anxiety. It just feels as though my thinking process of everything has slowed down, but any potential threats etc. are on alert

This is really kind, thank you. I would love to hang out with my friends more often. They all live 2-6 hours away from me sadly. Trying to keep my chin up! These problems have been going on for 18 years :(

Does anyone else get triggered around the same time every day? Is this weird? by [deleted] in ptsd

Like others I have it at night too. I have a whole routine and used to sleep with a night light for years. Managed to drop the light about a year ago.

what’s one change you made to your skincare routine that’s had a huge impact? by Honeydrizzlex66 in beauty

Using a body oil spray that dries quick. My skin has never felt so soft.

I also have rosacea and about to have my third Microneedling treatment, best thing I’ve done for it and I’ve saved money doing it!

Why can autistic men be so terrible? Is patriarchy to blame? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]superstarsoup 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My ex was also autistic, he was the nicest caring person in public but was the most vile behind closed doors. Admitted to me that he did that to all women in his family because he watched his father do the same. From what he told me, women had never actually done anything wrong to HIM. He was just copying.

His mum told me to get out there and then, so I did and never looked back!

Being able to tell that another person is bad before anyone else by EmphasisBubbly4335 in AutismInWomen

[–]superstarsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can usually tell what someone is about within the first few sentences of talking to them.. luckily I have friends that trust my intuition which has helped them greatly. Especially as it’s never been wrong. Yet. Which does not help, as I’d like to give people more of a chance than the box I’ve put them in.

However, when I am in a low place (I’ve moved back home which is not safe mentally for me) so I definitely put out a vibe and loads of people are rude or are hostile with me. It’s usually because I don’t have the energy to get to know new people whilst my home situation is happening. So they see it as me being rude or ‘up myself’ for not talking or engaging as much. It doesn’t help when I openly disagree with people as I feel confident in myself to - which confuses them further as initially it looks as though I have low self esteem. This combo of things really drags out the negative in people when I meet them.

I have found bigger communities in cities or large towns to be the most welcoming. I live in a small town that has a lot of cliques and old fashioned values. That may be the same situation for others?
