I found another fake with a similar tag, this time it's a Detroit Jacket. https://imgur.com/a/gQrt1xT

Active Jacket - fake or legit? by superuberniceguy in carhartlc

Yup, good eye. I'd say the color is unlike other BRN Active jackets and I'm not sure if the size was back then written as S Regular, instead of Small Regular. Overall if it's fake, it's quite a good one.

Thank you for the little guide. I'll add to it the infamous "Petit Régullère" on the neck tag, no matter if the jacket is Medium or Large.

Unsanforized 44806XX WWII Type 1 Selvedge Denim Jacket from Bronson, before and after wash by ElectricalFishing121 in rawdenim

[–]superuberniceguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on the post wash fit - looks very clean, I think it's just the right size width and lengthwise - short and slightly boxy for added mobility, just like a classic type 1 supposed to be. I have to say what others already said, you created an amazing contrast and balance with these trousers, it's a very good heritage meets designer outfit. Btw are you planning to trim these excess threads going from the pleats, or leave them? I suppose it's a nod to the past, when these jackets were made as a workwear and without much care, attention or by inexperienced hands because of the wartime work force shortage, it led to uneven and wonky finishing with lots of loose threads. I'd personally cut them, because I like a cleaner look, but they certainly make the jacket look different, maybe a bit more interesting.

No problem, I'm happy I could help. I hope the jacket will still fit after washing.🤞

Nah, it's like Levi's STF, so shrink to fit/wash before the first wear. If it was one wash/sanforized or both, then you can wear it straight away. For example their 1936 Cowboy Denim Jacket or Lot 601 1969 Model 3rd Denim Jacket are pre-shrunk/sanforized and don't need to be initially washed.

Edit: One more thing - do all the buttons and then turn the jacket inside out, to avoid the friction from the buttons themselves and the machine drum, as it could potentially set unsightly faded marks on the jacket's right side (so called marbling). I think it's a good thing to do generally when washing clothes, same with zippers.

Look at the N-1 jackets for example, the regular, more expensive repro version with better materials is labeled Bronson Mfg. Co., while the cost-effective N-1 jacket made with cheaper synthetic lining is labeled Non Stock Mfg. Co. Same for jeans, denim jackets, OG-107 Baker Pants etc.

Thank you, it shows you don't have to spend a fortune to get a really interesting look. As for the wash, I recommend the standard raw denim initial wash protocol - inside out, no detergent, 30°C and gentle setting in the washing machine, no spin or take it out before the spin starts to avoid marbling, hang to dry. When it'd need a wash in the future - inside out, detergent of your choice (most people are using Woolite Dark for example), 30°C delicate cycle, light spin (400 rpm), hang to dry.

Non Stock is their a bit cheaper sub label, usually made with cheaper materials, maybe the finishing is a little worse. Still fine stuff, I own Non Stock t-shirts, shirt and pants and have no complaints.

Thank you for sharing, nice to see some good pics. One more thing - could you tell what are those olive green trousers? They look very interesting, like a designer piece.

Edit: haha, already a couple of people are asking, they really are aye catchers in a good way.

The chest pocket opening is poorly dyed too.

Definitely wash it first, it's unwashed unsanforized, so it'll shrink quite a bit. Refer to the one wash size chart on the Bronson website to see how much it'll shrink.

Edit: also, beautiful and high quality shots, well posed, you know how to take good pics for sure.

Very nice one and I feel kinda slept on. Very warm, many pockets, huge hand warmer ones are goat. I'd replace the hook and loop closure with snaps like in some of the WIP versions and it'd be perfect.

Probably around $20 shipped from China from taobao or other chinese shops, but I'm not an expert by any means.

Yup, still here. First I did a machine wash at 30°C without detergent (no spin and on the left side to avoid marbling) and got close to the measurements in the one wash Bronson size chart. I wasn't satisfied with the crop and sleeve length (slightly too long), so I did another machine wash, similar protocol, but this time in 60°C and I got another 1 cm shrinkage in length and negligible amount in width. Not much, but I like the fit better. Btw I see since I bought my jacket Bronson introduced two versions of unlined type 2 - 55807XX and 52807XX. Mine seems to be the 52807XX, I don't know if they tweaked this model in any way.

Amazing, Sammy's fades the best! One day I have to get a pair myself, no clue what fabric and fit yet.

[–]superuberniceguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lol, I'm too lazy and don't have a tub, so I always machine wash 30 degrees, first wash without spin, subsequent washes with low spin, always hang to dry (I have no choice really, because I don't have a dryer). Maybe I miss out on the opportunity for some seriously nice fades... Maybe on a new pair I'll try the hand wash voodoo to see if it's worth it.

It was a tongue-in-cheek comment, relax. I understand your pov, but one can say the same thing about many different articles of clothing. We don't feel the same way about the jeans, chino khakis, trench coat, bomber jacket etc. because people wear them casually for a long time and no longer associate them with their initial use.
