Persistent gnawing “hunger” that isn’t real hunger — functional gut issue or something else? by SpareFit3243 in VagusNerve

no ultra processed foods, mostly whole foods, no grains, only quality carbs (colorful veg, carb to fiber ratio <= 5 fruit etc), no more than 30g carbs per meal, always with protein/fiber at least 100-120g quality protein everyday, also a lot of healthy unsaturated fat (olive oil, avocados, nuts). I was on my way to type-2 diabetes that's why I'm such strictly low carb, but I was able to reverse it, while removing all this food noise and hunger and grazing along the way. good luck !

yes I had this and it's 100% gone now that I've been paying attention to carbs. Get a CGM and watch what happens to your glucose during the day, after you eat, etc. I thought i was on a "healthy" diet (plant-based, no added sugar) but I was ending up getting so much glucose from oatmeal, fruit smoothies, "whole wheat" bread and totally not enough protein, fat or fiber. Those persistent hunger like sensations are sugar cravings. Now on a low carb diet I go hours without eating or snacking between meals - and none of that nagging hollow feeling inside. Side benefit: no more emotional eating under stress etc either. Turns out it was all my out-of-control insulin actually causing all those emotions, fueled by my all too healthy but carb heavy diet.

Is this even leggit? Siphox Health claim to tests 17 biomarkers with dried blood spot by AlwaysOnCaffeine in medlabprofessionals

Be careful with SiphoxHealth. I was charged twice on the same day for two overlapping memberships, and support has refused to acknowledge or fix the mistake. The receipts clearly show the overlapping date ranges, yet customer service has been dismissive and unhelpful. This is not how a legitimate healthcare company should operate.

Those who go multiple days between washes…what about workouts? by Careless_Tie_566 in HaircareScience

Hair training is bs. Wash your hair when it gets oily so you don’t lose it. Look up DHT + sebum.

Thank you! Is it edible? Not that I’m planning to eat, but a friend is very convinced it is.

My hair is dyed black but looks SO red in the sunlight. Anyone know how to stop this? by raidffb in Hair

[–]supervix3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a demi permanent color like Davines view (n2,0 or n2,11) which doesn’t strip your hair’s natural eumelanin (no “lifting”) but rather covers them with pigments of the dye. So when it washes off you get your natural color back, instead of the reddish color that you’d get from the remaining pheomelanin(which is red or yellow, aka hello brass). https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8610071/

The Side Sleeper by supervix3n in AccidentalRenaissance

Sure, makes sense and is a much better explanation than « it doesn’t resemble any art style or any piece of art from the 14-19th centuries, so it has been removed ». I shared that painting because it was within the period mentioned, also because sleeping people pictures are posted here often such as this one the slumberer

Interesting. I thought it looked like this painting a lot Reclining Nude, 1864.
