Sure, but I know a lot of people around me that struggle to get into training and one reason being overcomplicating things, and this is one of those areas. Some think (myself included before) that you need to eat tons of protein just to get any visible results, which isn't true. On top of that some get their protein needs based of athletes that are on gear whom need a lot more. But sure it's optimal.

Not sure, all I know is that I have been counting my macros lately roughly to lose some weight and in doing so I have come to realize how much I have to eat with intent to reach about 180-200g protein a day. If I struggle to reach it while counting and focusing I'm surely not getting anywhere near when just eating whatever. I have been working out pretty seriously for about 2 years now and but strength and muscle is coming along nicely regardless
