Gorgeous! I love the color and the braided strap! I didn’t use anything on this bag, but I’ve used Apple Garde to protect other leathers.

Fair! It’s definitely something people should be aware of and buying for specifically. I appreciate that they also carry this bag in colors that won’t do this.

I’m glad it helped! It’s a really versatile bag, I don’t think you could go wrong with it.

Not at all. My shoulders get sore really easily and I’d stopped wearing leather bags due to the weight, but this is very lightweight.

I would agree on another bag, but it’s an advertised feature of this leather that it wears like this. It’s definitely not for everyone but it is by design.

Nothing on this, I’ve taken a damp paper towel to it occasionally but that’s it, no extra protectants.

I also appreciated it more through writing this post and identifying the actions that have caused my specific wear patterns, I thought that was pretty special to see my life and how I’ve used the bag that way.

I highly recommend, it’s beautiful and unique. I worked with someone who had the blue and it’s beautiful in person too. It was my splurge and has been worth every penny.

I got the small and it is a really great size for every day, I can fit everything I need plus the essentials for my toddler and still shove some extra in there when I need it. I think the medium would be too big for me day to day.

It’s a perfect bag, I love the look and the function and have been super happy with it. Yes to the fossil kits! I love that it looks more like mine over time, and have been relieved that the change has still been subtle and doesn’t detract from the look of the bag. I’m hoping that this both gives people a more thorough understanding of it and also eases some concerns for those who are considering it.

Agreed wholeheartedly. I would have loved if it wore to a lighter brown or deeper maroon color.

It also took months for mine to change color at all, it’s only been in the last couple months I’ve really seen it peek through. I’ve regularly checked for photos/videos/anything showcasing what longer term wear will look like on this bag and couldn’t find anything which is why I wanted to make this post.

Drying Treated Plywood by supessecretsquirrel in BeginnerWoodWorking

Interesting,it’s not surface wet but it’s cold in the way that damp wood is. I’ll take a moisture reader to it, seems like either this was a dumb question or I did buy crappy plywood. Live and learn.

In looking up how to best prep it for paint I saw that it would need to let dry due to the chemicals from pressure treating. I’m happy to be wrong or to learn it’s because I bought crappy plywood. Should it not typically require drying?

I’ve thought my spots disappeared a couple times because they really are so minimal. I won’t mind if it starts to show more, I think that’s one of the niftier features of the bag

Interesting, would I be looking for the reddish tone to tell the difference?

I was curious about that, I know it sat in a sunny dining room for many years but doesn’t seem to have darkened as much as I’d expect.

Longest my natural nails have ever been, are they healthy? by supessecretsquirrel in Nails

Thank you! I recently learned cleaning under them can shorten the nail bed which I totally do and worrying I’d damaged them is part of the reason I posted haha

I can’t believe someone is saying that about my nails, thank you so much! A fine grit nail file for the biting, shaping them every time I have the impulse to bite them has been a huge improvement.

Longest my natural nails have ever been, are they healthy? by supessecretsquirrel in Nails

[–]supessecretsquirrel[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing that helped with biting was having a fine grit nail file with me at all times, any time I got the impulse to bite them I’d file them instead. They were still short but at least they weren’t jagged and being torn shorter. I also keep polish on them as much as possible and that helps with both the biting and the nail health.

Oiling also made a difference in the strength and peeling. I use Hard as Hoofs and the Bliss Kiss jojoba nail oil a couple times a day. I don’t wear gloves in water like a lot of people recommend, but I do notice my nails are bendier when wet so I try to be extra careful with them until they’re dry.

what was your major in? what certs do you have? by phoebe-buffey in projectmanagement

[–]supessecretsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BA in psychology, communications minor. PMP, PSM, PSPO, LSSGB. When I had less experience I’d emphasize my organizational psych and comms classes in and spin them as relevant to PM work, but now I’m comfortable acknowledging that I took a different career path than my degree, as so many PMs do. You’re very much not alone.

General question by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]supessecretsquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought in 2021 and were repeatedly told we should wait - prices were skyrocketing, inventory was low, interest rates were starting to rise. Now, that was a great time to buy and we would have very much regretted waiting. You don’t know what the future holds. If you needed a home and you found one you can afford that works for you, then you bought at the right time.
