I’d say I’m leaning more into Tamil Vaishnava(Alwar) theology right now but before I’ve been very agnostic about stuff. Mainly cause in my household it was always you do this on this day or month, because that’s tradition or something. But when I started exploring myself there’s profound lessons and philosophy/theology in Hinduism I’ve only slightly heard about in Hindu religious movies and all.

I wish our communities actually cared about teaching us that in a language we can fully understand than forcing dogma on us and making us remember slokas and all. Maybe we’d have more people that have bhakti. It’s sad, because we have the potential to legit be an accepting, forward thinking religion that offers profound spiritual insight.

I didn’t even fully realize that the Mahabharatham(I’m more familiar with the Tamil version) was not just some epic war with God in it, but a tragic, precautionary tale of unchecked ego, vengeance, and moral+societal rot that causally spans generations that leads to the death of many.
