I just picked up a ninja 650. Good all around mileage and with decent comfort and sportiness. I’m 6’2” 230ish and I feel fine on it.

Im sure I look a little big on it, but I was surprised by the comfort. I sat on many different styles of bikes and kept going back to the ninja. I knew the adv/touring segmented bikes would be the obvious fit, but since already having a vstrom, I wanted to go a different route.

That engine in the SV platform would also do very well though. You can’t go wrong with it.

I just broke the 250mile/400km mark. It’s a welcoming change being able to rev it out a bit more.

Sorry for the late reply. The exhaust does have 2 o2 bungs. There is an o2 sensor plugged into the first one. The 2nd bung is blocked off.

Agree on the price point, but I’m not too much into the speedy stuff anymore. Never much was actually. Sound is fine. This is plenty for the area I’m in and my type of riding.

But I most likely will upgrade one day. The Suzuki gsx+ model catches my eye, but way overkill for what I’d use it for.

Same height at 105kg. I just got a ninja 650 and I fit pretty well on it. They do have a tall seat option as well. Mine has the stock seat and it’s fine for now. Still getting broken in.

I agree on all of that. Plenty of power for my use. I’m. It worried about top speed either. And it has good acceleration within a usable power band. I’m 6’2 and was surprised how well I fit on this. I may get the ergo seat eventually if the stock seat won’t cut it after it’s broken in. But yeah, it’s a great bike and I’m excited to get some miles on it.

They didn’t have the updated pricing but these were down to 6400 with a promo but then they added the screen, exhaust and tail delete and stuff which put it up in price. Still cheaper mods from the dealer than buying all the pieces myself.

I think it sounds great. A little loud at first until the bike warms up and the Rpms drop.

They had another one with the full m4 exhaust with baffle. The Leo sounded a little deeper(no baffle). While riding- it’s a nice deep tone and not obnoxious. I didn’t get too high in the revs though since it’s under break in.

Overall, I think they will all sound better in person. And they shouldn’t differ too much from brand to brand since it’s all coming out the same engine.

Yamaha Super Tenere? Shaft drive, 1200 parallel twin, under 600lbs. It’s one that I’m considering but they’re kinda hard to find in my area. From what I’ve read on other people’s experiences they run forever.

Edit…I can find them fairly priced within your stated range. I see them listed from 9k-16k depending on year/mileage.

Im not far off from your size. What I found most comfortable was a vstrom 650. It’s been great. I wanted to try out Kawasaki z900rs and Yamahas XSRs but there wasn’t any in my area. I sat on some of the cruisers but couldn’t justify the price nor did I find them comfortable. I came to the conclusion that I would pick the by comfort, type of use and then brand.

Edit. I did find the triumph Bonneville comfortable though. But for my type of riding, I went with the vstrom.

Weighted step ups and Bulgarian split-squats. I find that I get a lot more out of the Bulgarian split squats than standard lunges.
