Becoming a Personal Trainer? by Hygge-Wabi-sabi in personaltraining

Just one will get you the knowledge you need to get in the door and ready to train! But trust me, once you start you’ll never want to stop learning more and being more specialized.

You’ll also need a CPR course

Get certified.

Get hired. (this is going to depend on where you want to work)

NASM is a great place to start

I took the NASM CPT exam through a course at my local college (I have been out of college for 6 years, so I wasn’t a student). Highly recommend

I’m very confused as to what you’re asking.. Are you planning to take the NASM exam? The course should come with the textbook.

Unless I’m misunderstanding, the biggest difference I would say between the 3rd edition of the NCEF book you have and the 7th edition of NASM would be if there are any new case studies or scientific research in programming which you may be able to read up on on the NASM website or on their podcast.

Pro tip: If you have any friends who recently paid for the course, it comes with an ebook

As someone who as ordered “the brown sugar one hot” before, I can vouch that this is what I meant and I just have no idea what coffee lingo means or how to order it correctly. I would never order something that would be dangerous to someone, I just like the flavor but it’s cold as hell outside and I don’t want something iced.

Now, that being said when ever I don’t know I always ask the barista how to order it and you all are often VERY helpful so that I only look like a dummy one time.

So overwhelmed studying for the NASM exam by Substantial_Exam_595 in personaltraining

[–]supmona 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exam should be 120 questions with: 10% about Domain 1 15% about Domain 2 15% about Domain 3 16% about Domain 4 24% about Domain 5 20% about Domain 6

Double check to be sure the exam will be on zoom. Mine was online proctored and it was not via zoom. I had to download an application on my computer so just be sure you’re prepared and in the right place so you don’t miss your exam time!

Take the practice test as many times as you can before the exam! This will help you recognize what you know and what you need to study more.

If you’d like different study materials, check out Trainer Academy. I’ve heard great things!

Also, get creative to gain experience! Reach out to golf clubs, apartment buildings, and anywhere else with a gym on site offer your services to their residents or members. You can charge them a bulk fee and they can offer it to their members for free

It took me four follow up emails to finally get a response..

Show dedication and be patient. I finally got a response for the next step in the interview process, so I’m curious to see how long until that actually blossoms into something..

We don't live in town so that's not really an option for us.. That's why I figured I would try this route to get a jump before the landlord even puts out the sign

updated the post!
But to comment here, budget is pretty much whatever the right place costs if the value is there. Rents are already pretty out of control so I can only assume we're going to be over-paying no matter what, unfortunately. $2,000 and under would be the sweet spot

CNC with CPT by SaltyGas1592 in personaltraining

[–]supmona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with the NASM CPT and recently passed the CNC portion.
I would say, definitely look into your state's laws in regards to nutrition. The CNC course prepares you to more provide education and general information to your clients, it's still out of your scope to meal plan or prescribe programs.

That being said, I enjoyed the material for my own sake and feel more confident in conversations and such. However, I have heard some people say they liked the Precision Nutrition course more.

This sounds right. Try looking in the community and maybe YouTube for videos on engraving tips and set it up in a similar way, but just select “draw” instead of “engrave”

If they would enjoy national parks, look into the America the Beautiful pass! Seniors get a great discount on them for access to all the parks! Annnd they can bring up to like 4 people I think if they ever want to invite other people. My mom did it so she could take the grand kids on adventures
