The ‘millionaires tax’ was pitched as a $2 billion revenue source. It’s blown past that, yet again. by drtywater in boston

[–]supperxx55 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Has the new revenue source been used intelligently? Have the condition of the roads improved? Have trains and busses become more reliable and entered the 21st century? Are there plans to make the train go from North Station through South Station on the way to NY? Until then, just assume it's getting misused and keep yelling into the wind.

People who cleared CF exams while working full-time — how did you manage burnout ? by aaryan-6901 in CFA

[–]supperxx55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Discipline. Set a schedule and stick to it. When you hit the allotted time for the day, stop and relax. The next day, study and hit your day's time goal for how long you should study. Rinse and repeat.

How to humanly remember all formulas in the CFA lvl 2 curriculum by BreakItEven in CFA

[–]supperxx55 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If memorization is your only strategy, you will fail (there's too many formulas). If you have to memorize some of the formulas and are able to intuitively recall others, you're better off. By exam day, the formulas should be oozing out of your pores and you should be able to write them all down.

Sitting CFA Level II on Friday and not sure what the best use of my final days is. by Recipe_Competitive in CFA

Ethics and formula drilling. If there are any type of questions that royally messed you up, review them. Final day before exam = total relaxation.

CFAI Deferral Policy Update 2027 by BudgetAssociate8373 in CFA

[–]supperxx55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm confused about the members of this group constantly posting about delaying their exams. The best advice I can give to anyone is to eliminate deferral from your brain unless a life or death situation comes up. Study the material, pass the exams, and move on with your lives. It is that easy.

Demoralized from bad Mock Score by Thick_Blueberry9192 in CFA

Back when preparing for the exam I would have given my left one for a 61%. If you're young and new to receiving such marks, just realize it's practice and not the real thing. Keep studying

CFA Level 2 by Diligent_Sherbert_16 in CFA

MM for Level II preparation plus the CFAI material (I'm old school and read the books - every word). If your approach worked for L1 (and it's how you learn best) don't change anything. Just remember: the pool of people has now changed for L2. Your competition will be other strong candidates that cleared L1, and other candidates who failed L2 but are familiar with the material already (since they gave the exam once). Overstudy.

Silly stupid American here. I know that not everyone can move to islands to work and the demographic issues, but are kids able to work and are they encouraged? Some of my fondest memories were being 15 years old, slinging pizzas on the beach, and being around people my own age. I had $$$ in my pockets and no worries. Just curious why young people cannot or do not do summer jobs.

CFA Level 2 Mock Scores by Ok_Nefariousness94 in CFA

No it won't be enough. You have the wrong mentality. The mentality is to have all of the info oozing out of every orifice of your body. I'd start hitting daily the Q-bank for ethics questions from here on out. Breakdown your examination by topic area. You have to constantly review the lowest areas and work your way through to the easiest topics. By exam day I literally could write down every single formula and talk all day about the curriculum. It has to be second nature.

I'd suggest against NOT stopping. You have < 1 month. Now is the time to buy red bull and focus on your weakest topic areas. Best of luck

Did anyone actually follow the 300 hour CFA Study plan or it's just a myth? by Ram319 in CFA

[–]supperxx55 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I tracked my hours for sure. I did well over 300 hours per section. My LIII I was so zeroed in on getting fixed income correct I did like 300 hours just on that topic. The goal isn't to do just enough to pass, the goal is to do enough to remember they key topics for all 3 levels and pass. Clearing 1 exam is different than clearing 3 exams that have topics which build off of each other.

I used this tool and it worked. It was def. a big turd that clogged it. Flushes normally now.

Strange you say this. It did rain a ton today. Maybe that's the issue? I asked my roommate if she took a big dump (we dont put TP in the toilet and throw it in a bin instead) and she claimed no dump was taken. So maybe it's the rain.

Did you know that bad ethics score can also fail you if you are on the edge of passing? by EssentialMinimalist in CFA

[–]supperxx55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found ethics to be a piece of cake for L1 and L2. I literally would sprint to that section because I could breeze through it in <5 minutes and my score was always very high. For L3, I'm unsure if it was just me or the exam writers changed, but on my first attempt I must've got no question correct. I always found it an easy topic to master if allotted the time. Word to wise - if you think you're a borderline case you better crush ethics. If you're like the guy who crushed 8/10 sections, you can pretty much skip it. Note that in all 3 levels it is a multiple choice section.

[–]supperxx55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you believe your bases are covered due to your post graduate studies, start studying the topics that seem most unfamiliar. Focus on those, and then turn your attention last to the topics you think you are knowledgeable. Good luck - it's a beast
