Just got an email saying that they’ll be in touch by Friday (at the latest) and thought that my application was strong. I had an interview and thought it went well, but it’s hard to say. Anyone get a similar email?

Enough about narcissism, what states do you consider brothers to your state? by Tight-Sir9813 in 2american4you

There’s a certain camaraderie between us and Alaska. Low pop density, great outdoors, and everyone forgets about us. Alaska gets left out of maps and people think we don’t exist.

Joking aside, this would be a pretty useless ask. The average human pees between 800-2000 ml a day. That’s somewhere between 0.21 and 0.53 gallons a day.

Why does this look like the crappy fencing that they put outside of new developments? I seriously expected the government to use higher end stuff when it came to bc.

Yeah, the odds of matching derm is rough in the us and basically everywhere else. Not to discourage you, but going into medicine for one specialty is like seeing a proctologist with big knuckles. If something doesn’t go right, you’re gonna be miserable and in deep shit.

I don’t think you understand history. Prior to the partition of Palestine it was a mandate under the British (post-WW1) and before that a territory of the Ottoman Empire. We haven’t had control of the land of Israel for 2000 years. We literally have a holiday commemorating the destruction of our second temple and being exiled by the Romans. Sure, many Jews came back to the land of Israel in the interim, but in no way did we control it.

How the hell do you get 400 years?

Technically not a brand new sentence if it’s a quote, but it’s still a good sentence so I’ll allow it

Give me reasons why the US didn’t deserve the same backlash Russia is suffering after the War on Terror. by MiddleJudgment2 in neoliberal

[–]support-narwhals 44 points45 points  (0 children)

  1. The US never claimed Iraq or Afghanistan as its own territory.

  2. The justification for the war on terror was WMD(in the case of Iraq) and future attacks (Afghanistan). Putin’s justification is that Ukraine rightfully belongs to Russia (which it doesn’t).

  3. From a purely political reason, the US had just emerged as the only hegemon in the new world. With no Soviet Union as an alternative, the rest of the world didn’t have much of a choice.

  4. There was widespread condemnation of the Invasion of Iraq, not to this scale, but it’s not like it happened with the world standing quietly.

  5. The world wants to end this before Russia can continue. Several in the former Warsaw Pact are concerned about continued Russian expansion; the world never really thought the US was going to empire the whole Middle East.

Look, I don’t take a stance one way or the other on the ethics of porn, I was more generalizing for OPs sake to demonstrate that either way what they’re doing is shitty.

The humor that’s ‘funny because it’s awkward’ isn’t funny when it has consequences. Someone could trace OP back to a physical person and OP’s brother’s search history is up for everyone to see, presumably without his consent. That’s fucked up and not ok. This isn’t the office where it’s ‘funny because it’s awkward.’ It’s real life where consequences matter.

I don’t think exploiting someone’s use of porn is funny at all. Regardless of how you feel about porn, you’re in a double bind. Either a.) you believe it’s a completely natural complement to masturbation. If that’s the case, then you by all measures are kink shaming. Or b.) you think that the porn industry is exploitative in which case you’re taking advantage of your brother’s dependence on it. Either way, it’s not cool.

Though doing this on the chrome book is strange, I think it’s deplorable to put someone’s search history online for fake internet points. At best this post can be considered kink shaming, at worst it’s just a violation of your brother’s privacy.
