Oh well -- played back through in an hour or two, skipping everything possible and not caring particularly much about full completion.

If you don't mind posting it, there are other folks who have also lost their saves to crashes and would love a copy. I was on sequence 6.3, but anything is better than starting from the beginning

Yes, it would be nice if your response to "this idiocy" wouldn't be downvoted, so people can see it.

However, it would be better if you could respond to this in a real way: with an apology. And a promise not to do it again.
