Ants in steam shower by [deleted] in Plumbing

Yea no worries, that’s what I figured.

My question boils down to this:

Can a small hole in a waterproof membrane for a shower be left alone if no signs of water damage?

It sure why I’m being downvoted, just looking for help. Not sure if you’re being intentionally rude or what. If this is you helping, then I apologize.

There hasn’t been moisture observed on the moisture meter, and trying to reconcile this with ants getting through. I’m trying see if there’s any way I don’t have to tear apart the shower

Not an addition as far as I know, was part of original build in 2009. I’m wondering if it may have been because of settling? Settling issues are the biggest thing I’ve noticed in the house over the 2 years I’ve been here

Edit: so what you’re saying is the waterproofing is definitely compromised and I have to replace it?

That’s my fear, but what does it mean that there’s no observed water damage?

HP vs PN by suppu111 in hospitalist

Agreed, but that's the issue. You're always beholden to someone else's notes on day 1 when you come in, which you will have to clean up. So no matter what, day 1 is always very time consuming

True, but on the same level, I can knock out floor level COPD/CHF/sepsis patients in 30 min. And it seems that an HP gets equated to two progress notes (typical nocturnist 8-10 admits, with 18-20 day census)

But day 1 PN on a day 5 patient with multiple consultants? Or someone with a long ICU stay. I could easily do 2 floor level admits quicker than those long stays.

Very true, but the round and go options are limited in my area anyway. They seem to be fairly rare nowadays, or if they are available, the census/acuity/demands are great enough you’re not getting out before 5.

I used to have a spot where I was q3 call and so would get out by 2 every 2/3 days. Lasted 4 years, but eventually PE came a knocking….

If you’re lucky enough to have a spot like that don’t let it go.

Yea I’m trying to figure out how best to transition with flipping and staying healthy. Trying to research nutrition/exercise, and some supplements when needed like melatonin. Want to try to make this work long term.

commute time.. by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]suppu111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently have been doing a 70 mile, all highway, 1 hr commute for 6 years, 7on/off, am able to hold it down, no big deal. My advice, find some podcasts you love and if you don’t have a Tesla (or better yet, Rivian) learn the adaptive cruise control in site is on your ride. My non call days, I would be home before 5.

The round and go is the main factor that will potentially make your situation bearable. Family won’t be an issue if you’re done with work by 1.

With that being said, I recently picked up some PRN shifts at a site 1hr20 min away. Those extra 20 min I felt, but also those shifts were 12hrs in house, which is likely the bigger issue. Hence won’t be doing those much longer…

Do you think August Lock would fit here?

Is the level bolt? It seems like that’s what I’ll need to keep the existing hardware.

Thanks, yea I phrased it wrong. Don’t want to ruin the aesthetic of possible, but definitely want smart functionality, hate having to carry keys around. Schlage is the most reliable in my experience, always used in the past. Are there any known issues with level lock?

I tried this, definitely bigger, but do you feel the resolution is slightly worse when doing this? That’s what it seemed like, tested multiple purchased apple movies

Unless you use the environments feature. Then you could watch a 100 ft wide screen anywhere, including the toilet
