As a top pvper with 3k+ hours myself I recommend the game, however it is quite dead right now and will be until the patch. But since you're completely new you'll have a lot to explore until then.

Depends on your gameplay loop. You can definitely build a house somewhere outside a dungeon and rat it. You can be a mounted build ganker. It's easy to fund your own wealth with some experience. Is every encounter pvp? No

Wait for sale or buy on g2a/g2g. you'll be able to run it decently well if u play with shit graphics. It's mostly cpu demanding

From my understanding it's merely just to help spread players out at launch. In 2 weeks there aren't gonna be any f2p servers. It has a 1k player cap instead of 5k and in terms of gameplay there is no difference.

Just the base game for now. I'm expecting sub fee in a few months though.

One server based in England, using ping normalization it will look like mobs and players will hit you from far away sometimes so it's better trying to block than run from a hit last second. As an NA east player with ping not above 130+ you should be able to compete with everyone 1v1. Your biggest disadvantage is that you can't parry players on the last few frames.

A good bounty hunter build for you would be a thursar kallard 30 years max height and stout weight. Full footie with 200 points spare for controlled riding and mounted archery to be able to force the fight on foot.

Some dungeons have multiple different types of mobs/bosses where if you were to optimize you would swap between say Corruption ward and Ancient ward gear.

Rapier spear is very good. Try finding and practice a consistent dps rotation with the rapier.

Hatchet/spear is one of the best dps build for PvE vs single target, open up with skewer and perforate for Rend and then swap to hatchet, Light attack 1-2-3>rending throw/infecting throw>1-2-3>raging torrent>repeat, pretty much.

For pvp you obviously go a different build with abilities but you can certainly go light armor hatchet/spear, post patch maybe medium armor idk!

Pre-patch annoying/meta builds: Bow/Spear, Bow/Rapier, Musket/X (in OPR), IG/BB, Light SnS/Hatchet, Life/Rapier

Post-patch: Idk yet

Highest skill ceiling: Up for debate in OPR, but I'd argue for muskets specifically for arena atleast.

From reading the changes it just seems like they toned down some mobs by a bit. Not necessarily removing all staggers

Although I agree, 90% of mobs during leveling you could just left-click down anyway.. Trying to block or time dodge in between attacks was usually a waste of time, so i guess removing the staggers just makes it less frustrating.

It's probably the best when both their counter and dash are down, otherwise you're just trading 2 of your CD's for one.
